I HATE DRIVING
I had to drive to the bus stop today for the first time ever and my mom was beside me in the passenger seat and whatever. It was fine at first but then she started getting stressed out and everytime I did something wrong/forgot to do something (thought I put on the turn signal, didn’t slow down enough) she’d almost yell at me. I get it’s stressful for her but it does NOT HELP to overwhelm the person who is driving YOUR SUPER HEAVY DEATH MACHINE.
My biggest problem is telling how far cars behind me are, even with the rear view mirrors. Because my depth perception is so bad, it’s almost like don’t have it. I know the cars are closer than they look,,but how close? And if I turn around to look I might hit something.!.!,!, does anyone have any tips on how to not,,,do that? Sometimes it’s also hard to tell how close/sharp turns are because of that. I find myself slowing down where I don’t need to and not slowing down fast enough.
Me: So this is the address? Where is that exactly? What buildings are near it?
Friend or family member: :gives very vague directions that aren’t very helpful: It’s so easy! You’ll be fine!
Me: :is confused and anxious: Okay..but exactly where is this? How will I know If I have gone too far? What should I...
Friend or family member: Oh c’mon! You’ll be fine! It isn’t that far!
Me: Um alright yeah. I can do this. It’s just a drive to the city, lots of highways and I’m not familiar with anything there...yeah okay.
After awhile...on the road to an unfamiliar destination...I’m like...
There are things I very badly want to do today that involve so much driving and it's actually really awful.
