“It’s already morning? How long have I been out?”
“Open the door to this cell now or this one dies.”
Voice a sibilant metallic hiss, Mystique jerked the guard off his feet with the pressure she applied to the cuffs at his neck, using him as a shield in case the other guards tried to shoot her. She was the predator here, and they very much the prey. Confinement didn’t suit her and she would escape one way or another.

Searing pain and then a lack of sensation, there was nothing like it. Nothing at all. The pain in his spine had never stopped on that sandy shore, the salt on his tongue, sticking to his face as it lined with tears and sweat. The world had spun when he went down and he couldn’t even understand what had happened at first.
But too quickly his world came crashing down on him, and Charles didn’t remember how he got to the hospital only that he was there, there and hearing the doctors’ thoughts were some of the worst things he’d ever heard. No chance of recovery. It was something that would change anyone’s world. However it wasn’t the loss of his legs that had a weight bearing on his shoulders. Perhaps he had thought he might die on that shore in Cuba, thought he might have bled out or that the missiles would land on them in the end and then he wouldn’t have to face her being gone.
It seemed only a few stayed to see his recovery, and non of them were life long friends though he supposed it didn’t matter, he just wished they would all stop thinking so loudly. Charles took a deep breath as he nodded to Moira’s words, not truly listening at first though he would catch up soon enough. A hospital was a whole new form of torture for the telepath, half of his strength was used on blocking out the patients and nurses in the nearby halls.
“Thank you for staying with me, I know you have quite a lot to do, to report to your superiors.” He said and offered her a tight smile.

“So, in a completely non-nosy way...Charles mentioned a son--?”

Enough was E N O U G H. Moira had been patient as she listened to the sound of Erik’s voice, every mention, or so, about humanity somewhat L E S S than positive. She’d T R I E D not to take it to heart, to understand where he was coming from, but it proved more and more difficult the longer she forced herself to simply bite down on the side of her lip. But there it was again, the generalisation of people like her, people W I T H O U T these remarkable abilities, and the reaction from the CGI agent was I N S T A N T. Pulling back her arm, her fingers curled into a fist, and without hesitation, she angrily S W U N G for the master of magnetism, square in the J A W.
There’s a ringing in his ear as his head remains frozen at an angle her fist pushes it into. There’s an ache in his jaw and knows that there will definitely be a bruise later on but he also knows that her hand will hurt much more than he will. Going for the face is probably the worst tactic but it gets her point across. Tilting his head just a bit further, Erik cracks his neck and raises his hand to rub at his jaw, the area she hit already turning red and tender to the touch. Eyes seek her out, a brow raised. “I hope that alleviated some of your aggression. I’d forgotten what you are. I apologize for my tactless behavior.”
