A short Ayam x Drokan comic I made a while back, but never posted! Ayam is pissed that Drokan gave his old room at the mansion to his new boyfriend, Anaphiel. You can read more about them in my lore doc, linked here!

LORE

The demons are a proud race, residing in hell for as long as anyone could remember. They have also hated the angels for as long as anyone could remember. The power struggle between the two has lasted eons, and is only now at a stalemate, with a deal arranged to keep the peace. To appease the Demons and stop them from invading, an Angel is sent down every few millennia, as a plaything. The higher-rank demons enjoy torturing it, and the lower demons occasionally get the chance. Drokan is from a higher rank, born into demonic royalty, under the leading force of Wrath. His family was powerful and influential, and expected Drokan to behave just as they did. While he was born from Wrath, Drokan always found himself attracted to softer circles, preferring to make friends with Sloth and Lust demons rather than stick to his kin. He was shunned for this, isolated and picked on as a younger demon, which only fueled his wrathful fire when he had the opportunity to take those frustrations out on an Angel.

Just before said Angel was released to earth, Drokan was summoned up from hell. He rose from a summoning circle in a human’s house, beckoned by a foolish man attempting to get more power. The man drew the sealing symbols on the ground wrong, and couldn’t bind Drokan to the summoning circle. It was easy to kill him and take his clothes, and just like that, Drokan was released into the surface world.

He wandered for a while, stealing and killing people as he pleased- until he stumbled upon Fanged Salvation. A halfway house for monsters. Enjoying the idea of a real place to stay away from the rain, Drokan found a room there, and quickly began to call it home. He began to grow and understand that his demonic way of life would only hurt those he cared about, slowly realizing he needed to separate himself from his past. Drokan began to hate all demons without nuance, cutting off his traditionally braided hair into a shorter bob, swearing that the race he came from was poisoned.

Is his indiscriminate hate for the culture that caused him pain doomed to stay, or will he learn to separate his heritage from the trauma he’s endured?

PERSONALITY

Drokan is a confident and charismatic Demon with a sharp tongue, and a penchant for saying all the wrong things. He enjoys teasing others as a way to bond, but he often goes too far and insults their greatest insecurities. He enjoys drinking and going on walks, and delights in tormenting others, though more often than not, he’s simply playing pranks on them. He tries to help others, but he has a temper, and his short fuse often causes him to get into more trouble than others. When he gets angry enough, black smoke rises from his mouth, nose, and pores, filling the air around him until he calms down. Under it all, he has a good heart and loves his friends dearly. He wants to be good and kind, but doesn’t have the skills to know how just yet. He’s a hopeless romantic, which contributes to his charisma, but his other traits hinder him from forming lasting relationships. Maybe Fanged Salvation will provide a fresh start, with a new opportunity to find himself.

POWERS

Can speak in Demonic, can draw summoning circles, and summon things from Hell. Everything he summons functions and feels the same as it would normally, but is visually inky black. Almost like being coated in a layer of paint.

RELATIONSHIPS

Drokan is currently dating Anaphiel! He is happy with him, but there is still underlaying tension because he used to torture the Angel in hell.

Drokan is ex-boyfriends with Ayam. He still loves and cares for him. Part of him wants Ayam back, but he promised to protect Anaphiel and that means he can’t have Ayam around. He does sneak out to see him, however…

Drokan is enemies with Reign. They didn’t get along in hell, and once Reign got summoned to the surface, Drokan found him and attempted to banish him back to hell. Drokan knows Reign got away, but doesn’t know where he want- or that he’s allied with Ayam.

Drokan is finally done!!! I may add another page of reference poses, design notes, and little personality things later, but we shall see!! This is all an overview of his lore, personality, and experiences. It’s VERY paired down, I tried to fit as much as I could in here but there’s a lot to these characters, and I don’t want to overwhelm anyone!! Me and my boyfriend been working with this world for at least two years now, and they’ve grown so much since we first thought them up.
