Drumstick Tree Moringa Oleifera This drought resistant, fast growing tree is native to Indian Subcontinent. It is also called Horseradish tree, Benoil or Benzolive tree. Young seed pods and leaves are used as vegetables. Kernels are used in vegetable extraction, Moringa seed cake is used in water purification.Harvesting is done manually using stabs with attached hooks. Fruits and flowers appear between July to September and March to April ( two harvests in a year). Barks, sap, roots, seeds and flowers of Moringa tree are used in traditional medicine.
