Peter taught: “For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry” (1 Peter 4:3). So serious is the sin of drunkenness that the Bible warns drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of heaven (1 Corinthians 6:10).

Last night l had to start something new 🙄. These colours have been in my head since watching a kids bedroom reveal on one of those shows! I had pinned a quilt by #skinnymalinkyquilts ages ago that I loved and it had the colours. Sooo...Had to make it. Too many projects 😆. Last winter I took this nearly whole cloth quilt on our visit home at Christmas. It is about 52″ square, and I hand quilted it all in about 6 weeks. It has been very difficult to capture the warmth and texture of it in photos. 

It was my take on a drunkard’s path block, using very dense hand quilting with Auriful embroidery floss (and 50wt for the less dense hand quilting). The Aurifil floss has a lovely metallic sheen to it when used this densely (in a double strand). 

My goal with the hand quilting was inspired by kantha stitches and folk art where the lack of perfection shows the hand of the maker--although I was new to hand quilting, and I now kind of cringe at some of the mistakes I made in tying off threads and quilting that close together. I learned so much from this quilt, and it has since become the first in a series as I push this idea farther.

Hope she cleaned up! #doubtittho #drunkmoms I dont know what path this message was leading me to but when iCloud showed me these, it just confirmed I was with someone toxic who was either an alcoholic, or just discovered alcohol (🤔), and/or was just using me as a crutch and to show people she was doing just fine with going through a divorce. Very narcissistic behavior. Behind closed doors is a different story. I know this person probably trashed my name with her piece of paper in hand. But that novelty will wear off. Posting allows me to express how I feel and to show a different perspective.
