I'm making a Deep Space Nine emergency room au and I need opinions on these roles for everyone

Pick up what I'm putting down, maybe? AU where Kira is Dukat's illegitimate daughter.

What if Meru fell pregnant while under Dukat's """care""" and Kira was born into that gilded cage. She was raised by her mother, and Dukat to some extent, until she was 2 or 3; too young to really remember anything. Hand-wavey attack by the Bajoran resistance happens, and while Meru is killed in the skirmish, Kira is rescued and eventually ends up with Taban and her brothers, Reon and Pohl. When she's old enough, Taban tells her a lie about who her actual sire is to keep her safe. He raises her as his own daughter, basically following along with canon, except now she's half-Cardassian.

And that comes with all the internalized hatred, and micro/macro aggressions from everyone around you and interpersonal trauma that you can imagine :))) As she gets older she learns to support inwards, vent outwards and use that resentment as a weapon. But she comes out of her youth a much harder and more guarded person than in canon. Kira was raised 100% culturally a Bajoran, and refuses to have anything to do with her Cardassian heritage. btw Dukat knows she's (ONE OF) his fuckin long-lost illegitimate half-Bajoran daughter immediately bc of the family name, Kira. He keeps it to himself ofc, and does not let it slow his roll with being a massive pest towards her. If anything he desires her respect and admiration even more bc that's his. Also I have to add from @destroyersopera: "given all that she's been through and her experience with cardassians that she reads dukats interest in her as creepy lust when in this case it's just that he knows she's his daughter so naturally wants her approval" something something the way that would color so many episodes, "Cardassian", "Indiscretion", "Return to Grace", "Covenant" !!!! just of the top of my head. Dukat being So Pleased when Kira wants him to leave Ziyal on the station for her safety etc etc. The FALLOut when Kira realizes Ziyal is her sister!! I still think Kira fully finds out the truth for "Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night", uses The Orb, and sees him being an Actual Doting father to her and she just I think about Kira Nerys, Dukat's illegitimate half-Bajoran daughter a lot.

*edit* this au was made at the midway point of season 6 but i have now finished watching DS9 so feel free to spoil :3

Made a couple sketches of an AU that popped into my head! The little changeling from the begotten survives and grows up on the station!

I hc that a changeling's pronouns shift with whatever form they are currently in, and the little changeling really likes this form of a little humanoid girl. (Would look similar to odo in the show but its a bit hard to demonstrate in my style without other characters present)

- At first the little changeling spends time as a mini-odo, eventually they choose their own humanoid form, and Odo gives them the name Kejal (Bajoran for freedom bc i am uncreative)

- Odo never regains/regains his shapeshifting much later, so he still needs to eat and sleep, Kejal loves watching him do so.

- Kejal is friends with Kirayoshi O'Brien

- Kejal barely speaks and uses shapeshifting & communication cards

- her first word was "yoshi" but it was really gravely and coarse, so it scared Yoshi himself a lot.

- is a very talented shapeshifter and could imitate anyone on the station nearly perfectly, they'd just have to be a tiny version as they don't have enough mass to imitate adults yet

ds9 au where they actually work at the mall. sisko as exshausted ex military supervisor. odo as paul plart mall cop on a segway. quark owns and runs every chain at the food court and illegally sells liquor and weed through the popeyes. dax works at the victoria secret and worf works in the sports store across from the vs and eventually gets fired because he won't stop breaking the equipment so dax gets him a job at the vs and he is immidiately promoted to floor manager because he's such a good salesman. kira as the butch lesbian mcdonalds manager that runs the place like the navy. garak is still a shitty tailor. miles is still the maintenance guy and keiko owns a small flower shop and secretly grows the weed quark sells. jake and nog have shoplifted from every single store at least three times and odo has caught them every single time. dukat is still an intergalactic war lord trying to kill them all.

ds9 dnd au

Inspired by the fact that I accidentally made a very Garak-like character (see post here) entirely on accident which got me thinking more about what these characters would look like in a dnd-style setting.

I will probably never write this but. rattling the ideas around in my head regardless.

Sisko - I feel like it might seem obvious to go with cleric, but I don't see the Vision there. Maybe Celestial Warlock, unintentionally binding himself to a God/Divine Being while on some other very ordinary quest. Did not want to be chosen but has this power thrust upon him anyway through a mysterious deal. 1000% still a human but with some distant celestial heritage that isn't enough to count as an Aasimar. Divine Soul Sorc could also work, but I like the idea of the whole accidental warlock pact of it all with an entity that has chosen him for a higher purpose that may or may not have made him a little bit Jesus to Kira and her people.

Kira - Rogue/Cleric combo , but majority rogue with 1-2 levels of clerical study that got interrupted as she grew up and was forced to adopt different strategies to fight against an occupying force that tried to take over her forest homeland. My heart says Firblog but also Genasi of some kind could work. Race is a little nebulous but I think something non-human for sure.

Odo - VERY obvious as a changeling and I think I don't need to elaborate. Class? Paladin. Oath of the Crown. Extremely rigid in his thinking and protects the lands he lives in with everything he has. Kinda opposite to the Fey of it all which becomes really funny when he finally meets more Changelings who are simply not Like That. Extremely Lawful Neutral, focused only on the Law as the arbiter of truth. Maybe eventually switches up a bit.

Jadzia - this is harder to pick but race wise I'm thinking Kalashtar for the vibes of being a combination type creature made of a 'spirit' (Dax) and the person (Jadzia). Perhaps with some hand-waving homebrew lore that about the Quori spirits they combine with are passed on after each 'host' has lived. Class-wise is sooo tricky but I think maybe Artificer (Alchemist) / Monk (Astral Self) combo which I feel like seems unhinged as hell but fits the two halves of her personality - the curiosity of science officer and the kind of spiritual aspect of understanding the power of one's body.

O'Brien - human as HELL. But, I reckon he's a forge cleric/artificer (either battle smith or armorer) in terms of class - his love for the profession of Making Things I think is almost a faith in and of itself, and he is very much focused on learning as much as possible about crafting. As a cleric it's less about the love of god and more about the love of the art of making/fixing things as a divine act.

Julian - Reborn Human. Something about the angst of coming back wrong in childhood there. Perhaps his parents kinda got into some weird dark magic because they wanted to Improve their son and made some sort of deal with some eldritch entity that changed him as a child. Class-wise this is tricky as HELL but. I guess I have to go with Life Cleric (some irony in that as someone who is technically a little dead), but I think he always secretly kind of admires rogues too, but feels he has a duty to help and heal people wherever he can.

Garak - yuan-ti simply for the Bit (I can appreciate a lizardfolk or dragonborn but I think the yuan-ti are more Cardassian), but I think he'd be the more snake-like kind, not a pure-blood. Inquisitive Rogue for sure, all about the sneaking around and spying of it all. Could also have some Gloomstalker Ranger in there too. Everyone keeps accusing him of being some kind of spy but why would he? he's just a plain and simple merchant on the road (big wet reptile eyes), won't you buy his wares?

Quark - no class he's just the owner of a Tavern who Odo is convinced is smuggling illegal items but he's never quite been able to catch him in the act. Race-wise this is hard but I'm thinking tiefling. He keeps accusing Odo of assuming the worst of him just because he's got some lineage to the hells. He absolutely abuses those connections he has to certain devils and other minor hellish creatures to import his illegal shit.

Worf - Look this is not even a contest but Barbarian, Path of the Zealot. He's got that almost religious fixation with fighting and is absurdly hard to hurt. Race, I know Orc feels obvious but I think I do need to go with Githyanki for the warrior and conquest of it all. Has killed a mindflayer with his bare hands.
