Just for nostalgia’s sake, I decided to redraw the comic banner for my old series, “1 HP Sans.” If you’re interested in what this was, I think I actually still have a link to the first page on my tumblr... (its embarrassingly bad haha) Back when I first made it, the AUs were still relatively new. People were wary about them, but I was thriving in them. I remember thinking, “Who would want to read a comic about a bunch of AU versions of the same person surviving out in a world that’s totally not Don’t Starve Together? That’s a ridiculous concept!” And then I did it anyway, like a fool. Knowing how the future of the Undertale AU fandom evolved, I wonder what would’ve happened if I had made this comic in the present day? A comic about a bunch of stupid babies trying to survive with only 1 HP apiece. ...Maybe I’ll make a few encore comic pages in the future for this poor neglected series.
oo! i'm curious what the series is about! :o
Aaah well! It was about all the skeletons trying to survive Don’t Starve Together style (since the game is what inspired me to make the comic in the first place). They have to keep up with resources, food, shelter, etc. while also maintaining their 1 HP. They’re stuck on an island too, so no escaping to society that way. In fact, the entire universe they’re in seems to be completely deserted.
There’s a lot of mostly lighthearted shenanigans, mostly meant to document happenings that me and my friends went through while playing DST (I have 500 hours on the game save me)
There was a plot though that was going to diverge from the usual lightheartedness but obviously I never got to the point where that plot unfolded. It is, however, fully developed pff-
Out of the characters, 3 of them were created specifically for the comic. Metta (an extreme version of the “AU where everythings the same except everyone has mettaton’s legs), King (a sans who looked like a king), and Aesthetic (a sans made to look like every pastel aesthetic blog on tumblr).
Overall, I had fun making the comic but a lot of stuff happened that ended up putting a permanent lid on the series as a whole, though I have used these characters in some of my other projects, as private as those are. Also as a fun tidbit, we were originally coming up with names for the Datashift’s multiverse, and we tried out different ones but DTSverse really confused me solely because I had DSTale- DTS and DST are extremely similar LMAO I’m glad we just scrapped the “verse” part at the end and just went with Datashift.
