What if the whispering in the tunnels was the dead villages driven insane by the King, their souls melted and mushed together into one screaming eldritch mass of voices driven over the edge by the King they cherished so dearly.

Still they search for the King long after their bodies are gone and their minds have been twisted beyond recognition, or perhaps they lure others into the caves for more to join their chorus of infinite knowledge. Maybe they are a warning, a large cacophony of indistinguishable grief begging, crying for anyone to enter the caves to turn around.

They put out of their misery anyone unfortunate enough to end up down in the caves, as death is a far better fate than what they had to endure.

Anyways I’m normal about this series.
