3! What is your fave way to self-care?
all it is is saying “no.” that’s it.
people get self-care confused with self-pampering. both are good, and they can sure overlap, but i don’t need a pedicure and a cup of chamomile tea to justify not going to grab food with a friend when i’m tired.
even when it sounds fun and i want to stay out later, i check in with my capacity and say no if the immediate fun thing will get in the way of other things i also want in my life, like a day at work that doesn’t feel exhausting because i did get enough sleep. (it can also be “no thank you.”)
sounds simple, but it’s a lot harder than it seems. it might even sound a little boring, but it’s not. it’s delicious to do what i want when i want on my own terms according to my own needs.
