Year 0: The Great Bread War
Take notes, Leute! ✨
nothing like a little existential dread to spice up your midnight snack of panic
Disney really loves us, huh?
Come at me with those sweet, sweet "Della Duck's hilariously bad and cute art" memes; every single one of them is GOLD.
ALTERNITAVELY - Dewey and R.
Lunar is for lunacy! Or something like that.
She possessed a beauty none could compare to. He was twelve years old, far too young to fall suspect to beauty’s subjectivity, but he knew she was beauty all the same.
Her feet didn’t quite touch the ground. He saw the tips of her toes edge close to the floor, an inch above it, but her flesh was swept away under her silver gown. He didn’t think to look away. He didn’t dare to look away from her oval shaped face and peerless, pearl glare.
Dewey couldn’t move. He couldn’t move had he wanted to, and he sucked in a shocking breath, letting the cool air run amuck in his lungs.
Her silver robes danced at her feet as she glided towards him. He tried to move, but his feet were like lead on the cracked floor. As she drew near, a soft feathery sensation surrounded him. He felt light, weightless, and the flee response that pleaded for him to move was instantly silenced.
He waited like a sitting duck. It was a terrible plan to behold her in her monstrous yet stunning beauty. She was on him in less than a second, as if time was a concept the gods adhered to, and when he raised his head from her shadow, she hovered directly above him.
Dewey could’ve shouted. He wanted to squeak in, not shock or surprise, but in an expected way of great anticipation.
“She said there were three.” Her voices said in a monotonous tremble, “Where are the others?”
She?
“What do you mean?” He demanded and glared at the goddess, “What did you do with my mom?”
Her spear’s crystal brightened ominously as she sent it down to the floor. Concrete cracked and crumbled underneath the pressure, “It is irrelevant. We shall retrieve the others.”
“Others?” His dull fear turned sharped. A pale white hand reached towards him without her craning down to touch him.
He whimpered helplessly. No, no, no, not like this, he anticipated the worst, but never anticipated this was the worst, no, no, I want Uncle Donald.
He didn’t close his eyes. He refused to close his eyes. Her bone white fingers slowly folded around his neck. A painful coldness engulfed his body.
Thunder rippled through silence. Her hand, ready to take its prize, jerked back suddenly. Her haunted head moved to the ceiling where darkened skies thundered forebodingly in the distance.
Her peerless eyes narrowed dangerously.
A brighter light swept through, and she was gone.
Alone and alive, his shallow, quickened breaths were all he could hear. He stared to the left, right, in all directions, and felt a wave of nausea overcome him. He was alive, and so was she.
The room started to spin, and as he fell, Dewey heard someone shout his name.
He heard several voices all at once call his name. He wasn’t sure if it was a remnant of his memory or something real he could depend on.
Darkness called to him like an old friend.
