@clubmates​ said: a quiet train ride home, countryside scenery lit by the warm glow of railway lights and a full moon hanging above, the two all bundled up to face the chill in the air. they board the train after waiting around awhile, chatting the whole way, they eventually settle into their seats, sayori taking the one by the window, as usual. after glancing out for awhile, she looks over at james, who's just on his phone or something. then, she snuggles up to him, leaning on him, linking their arms. " so sleepy... today was a good day, though. " she says, with a yawn to match.

it was nice to get out of town every once in a while, even if it was just to visit some of sayori’s family who lived out in the countryside. (it wasn’t like james had anyone they could easily visit by train, anyways -- his family was all across the ocean in america, certainly not here in japan. besides, sayori’s family was practically his family too, they were so close.)

he scrolls through funny videos on his phone while sayori watches out the window, comfortable in his puffy jackets (being born in new york prepared him for the cold!) and snorting quietly to himself every once in a while. (of course he had headphones in, he’s not an animal!) but when his best friend snuggles into him, links their arms together, he suddenly finds himself heating up. a lot. in the face.

yep, he’s blushing. he clears his throat and hopes that the chill of the train could easily explain his reddening cheeks.

“y--yeah! yeah, it was a really good day. it was nice. i always have fun going out of town with you -- wait, hey, did you say sleepy? wake up, dummy, i’m not carrying you out of the train station again!”
