Riddle Rosehearts Chapter I
This Plot Has More Holes Than A Typical Piece Of Cheese!
You opened your eyes and sat up from the plush bedding. You immediately held your head in the palm of your hands feeling dizzy, sitting up too fast was never a good idea.
[The transfer was a complete! Would Host like the memories of the body Host is occupying?]
You felt a headache coming from the amount of information flooding into your mind. This body shared the same name with you. Her name is {y/n} {l/n}, the only young lady of the {l/n} Grand Dukedom.
She was engaged to Darius Fiddlewalt, the current young master of the Fiddlewalt Dukedom. On the outside, her family loved and doted on her but behind closed doors she was a victim of high expectations and verbal abuse.
The story took place in a medieval setting and follows the female lead, Isabelle Violetgarden who was the daughter of a foreign dukedom from the humble kingdom of Dolonis. She visited the powerful Grindelfall Empire to get acquainted with her own fiancé, crown prince Riddle Rosehearts.
Long story short, Riddle gave a bad first impression of a spoiled and uptight prince when in reality, he was just nervous and anxious about meeting the fiancé he hadn't known he had until 5 weeks prior. She left the castle in anger and frustration and bumped into the male lead. You won't guess who the male lead is, oh you did? That's right, it was the very body your possessing's fiancé; Darius Fiddlewalt.
Eventually they started their little affair behind the backs of their respective fiancés. Who both are in very high positions, with {y/n}'s family only being below the imperial one.
{y/n} found out and broke into a furious tantrum, rightfully so, although such an action held severe consequences. When Riddle found out however, he let them go despite the fact that their affair ruined his image in front of the entire Grindelfall Empire. Then the two leads lived their happy lives while leaving their fiancés alone and humiliated, {y/n} more than Riddle.
"Why the hell is this plot so stupid?!" If you had been a part of an anime, Jarka was sure you would've had a gigantic tic mark above your head with a ticking smiling mouth, the veins pulsing from your jaw seemed to do the trick though.
[The first world hosts of any system transmigrate into always have plot holes esteemed Host]
"Understandable...but why does this have so many?! I mean, Riddle is a crown prince and the body I'm in is below only Riddle in terms of status! Where the everlasting fuck did these stupid leads get the nerve and audacity to potentially anger such powerful people huh?!"
Jarka couldn't help but agree with the points it's Host was making, they all made perfect sense. Why didn't the male and female lead face any repercussions? The female lead only comes from a kingdom while her fiancé came from an empire, a very powerful one at that. Kingdoms have been annexed for less.
"Adding on to that!" You continued your rant, "what the hell are these names? Violetgarden? It's just begging to be made fun of! Ugh!"
Jarka could only feel sorry for the author of such a trashy novel for they had to face your harsh criticisms of their plot-hole filled novel.
"And not to mention the misogyny in this! Why doesn't the male lead get criticized for shamelessly cheating in the public while the victim is blamed?! Even the female lead faced scorn for cheating on - and I can't say this enough - the literal crown prince with someone of lower worth! Why I ought to-"
[ (・・ ) ? ] Jarka felt unnerved by its Host's silence.
"That's it! All I have to do is get engaged to Riddle instead!"
"Not only will that gain the approval of this body's parents, but it will also spare the other victim of the affair's reputation while boosting my own!"
[That would've an excellent plan, except for one eensy teensy little fact Host...]
"And what, pray tell, could that little fact be Jarka?"
Jarka didn't know how to tell its Host this...
[Riddle and {y/n} have been engaged to their respective fiancés since childhood]
Your silence unnerved Jarka once again.
You lay down in the soft bed and went back to sleep.
[Host, what if I told you that breaking your engagement to the male lead would give you the ability to use a modern bathroom?]
