This is a one pot dump meal with everything from Trader Joe’s that I love. Personally I find it to be low spoons because it’s there’s no measuring cups involved. It’s also a vibe based meal so you can adjust it to what you like.
Base liquid:
Tomato Sauce - $2usd
Gnocchi:
Shelf stable potato gnocchi - $2usd
Vegetables:
Spinach - $3usd
Mushrooms - $3usd
Fat:
1 tbls Butter - already had in fridge
Seasonings:
Rosemary, Oregano, Basil, Thyme, Garlic - already on hand in pantry
Cream:
splash full fat milk - already had in fridge
To adjust this recipe swap out the base liquid, gnocchi, vegetables, fat, seasonings, and cream with what you have.
Heat the stove burner to medium. Sauté vegetables and add salt with seasonings. Dump base liquid in pot with vegetables. Let heat while stirring every few minutes. Once bubbling add your fat to the sauce followed by cream. Taste, then add seasonings till it tastes good. Should be done in under 20 minutes depending on how long you let it simmer.
Tips:
When tasting if it feels like it’s missing something it’s probably salt, pepper, or an acid. Experiment by adding a pinch of salt or a dash of vinegar to compare without ruining a batch!
When sautéing your vegetables you want to not cook them fully through when you add the sauce. There should be slight resistance when you poke through with a fork. Cook them to done and then adding the sauce ends up with disintegrating vegetables.
