Every rose has its thorns
TW: a panic attack, fear.
ok back with the writing remember those dungeon maker head cannons form a while back? yah there back with a vengeance, and a Crowley forced to act like and a adult to
Yuu lived as a magicless student for a long time now. Over a year has passed, and Yuu has been living a pretty good life by his own standards. He has a roof over his head. Plenty of friends who while liking to deny their friendship celery did care for Yuu. So when Yuu suddenly disappeared everyone panicked. They searched every single inch of the school only for them to realize that Ramshackle's door had been locked the whole day. Ace was the first to try and talk to Yuu.
Only for Grim to say that Yuu felt sick and didn't want to give whatever he had to the other students. Then the rest of the week went by in a concerning flash. One that had Yuu not stepping out of Ramshackle once. The idea that Yuu was lying about being sick had gotten a bit more popular. Crowley admitted perhaps Yuu was trying to worm himself out of school work. It was a mixed feeling Crowley had to this idea. Yuu was finely acclimating to the school environment. On the other hand, Crowley liked the obedient student who would do all of the odd jobs he asked of him.
So as Crowley claimed. “He would go check on Yuu’s health himself.” This was the excuse since Yuu felt the need to keep himself in the Ramshackle dorm. Crowley felt it was justified to check in on both Grim and Yuu. Grim would most certainly use any excuse to get out of school work. The issue was why Yuu was going along with the charade. So Crowley opened Ramshackle with his master key. Only to be grated with a shocked Grim. “Meh! You're not meant to be here! Get out!” Grim tried to push the head mage out. Using all of the magic Grim had learned from the last school year. It was the first time since the beginning of the school year that he had to use his own magic on Grim.
Evenly well beaten and tired Grim yowled about “how this was not fair, and how Yuu really was sick and not getting better.” Crowley decided he was going to nip this idea in the bud citing “that if Yuu was really this sick he had to actually get proper medical attention.” Crowley had been getting tried as well. Since Grim was celery fighting harder than he normally would for an occasion such as a simple lie. As Crowley approached the second floor of the dorm…
“Oh my that really is a problem.” Crowley brought a clawed finger up to his chin lightly taping it. “Meh! I’m sorry Yuu. I just couldn't beat him!” Grim said with light tears in his eyes. “Grim what is happening here.” Crowley asked, looking at the hallway covered with pitch black thorns. There wasn't an inch of space where one could walk without being pricked. “I dono, Yuu woke up one day, and all of this started to happen. I have to bring meals to our dorm room for Yuu.” Grim wined clearly distraught. “The only people who could make such thorns would be the royal fey family. I truly wish not to bring Mr Draconia’s intention into question, but I cannot see who else would do such a thing.” Crowley muttered. Only for a soft voice to come out of the bramble. “It wasn't him.” the voice of Yuu softly spoke. So soft one could barely hear it. “Meh! Forgive me Yuu!” Grim’s ears were pinned to his head. “It’s ok, Grim. I suspected that the headmage would come knocking eventually.” Yuu softly spoke.
“Yuu you claim that Mr Draconia did none of this?” Crowley inquired. “No… I-I think I’m the reason why thorns started growing.” Yuu seemed to hesitate to tell Crowley anymore. Crowley paused at this. Yuu had the features of a fey, those pointy ears indicated as such. Yet Yuu was said not to possess a single drop of magical power. “You're not trying to cover for your friend are you?” Crowley asked. Yuu did not reply before Crowley attempted to navigate the thorns. Grim had easily waved in between thorns and vines. Crowley, he had to use a little more force. To get to the two’s shared dorm room. “Yuu I am coming in now.” Crowley said. “NO! PLEASE DON-” Yuu never got to finish his sentence. Only able to look on in shock as the head mage watched as Yuu rushed to the farthest corner away from Crowley.
Two large purple horns sprouted from Yuu’s head. The large black thorns seemed to be coming from out of Yuu’s own shadow, and to top it all off Yuu was shaking with eyes wide as saucers. Yuu had this look that Crowley only saw a few times, but it was one he knew well. Yuu was giving Crowley a look that had to be taken seriously, and dealt with gently. Yuu had no idea what was going on with his own body. “Yuu, when did this all start I’m not mad. I only want to help you through it.” Crowley slowly walked over to Yuu. Crowley even removed his own mask so as to look less intimidating.
“S-s-stop! Don't get closer. I-I don't want to hurt you! I hurt Grim, I hurt him by accident. Grim said he would take care of it!” Yuu seemed to just want to push himself deeper in the corner. “Yuu you're not going to-” Crowley felt a sting come from his cheek, the kind of sting that came from a cut, but Crowley held strong. “- hurt me” Crowley then knelt down in front of Yuu slowly wrapping his arms around the teen. As thorns gave Crowley shallow cuts.
“I-it happened a few days ago I woke up and my head hurt. Grim told me I had horns and I didn't believe him. Grim then got very adamant that there were horns growing out of my head. And I- I got really mad. I didn't even notice the thorns. They… they hurt Grim, I hurt Grim.” Yuu was crying, shaking, clearly scared out of his mind. Crowley sighed, he only dealt with issues like this a handful of times. Malleus Draconia had come to the Night raven with a good grasp on his magic. But other fey with higher-then-average power? They sometimes had breakdown while not close to Overblots, they could hurt other students if not dealt with carefully.
Crowley no longer needed to question it. Yuu had magic, and was at least of Fey heritage. “Meh hench man… are you ok?” Grim asked. “... n-no who am I? Why am I here? WHAT AM I?” Yuu shook violently. “Sh… sh, it’s ok Yuu. look I don’t have your answers. Those will come in time for now you need to rest. I’m sorry for intruding, but what Grim told us was you were sick. I can now see it is more serious than just being sick. I’m not asking you to go to class right now, but I’ll tell your friends of your state.” Corley slowly unhooked his arms from Yuu. Crowley could tell he was losing blood. That he would need to see a medical professor, and had to get someone with a clue as to how to help Yuu.
Crowley thought for a moment of asking Mr Draconia himself. Since well he himself must have dealt with something similar in the past. That could be taken as a slight, but that's when Crowley remembered something. He remembered that Lilia had not only assisted in taking care of Draconia, but also silver. He must have some idea on how to deal with a situation like this. Lilia would do a much better job than he himself would that was for sure.
