they’re a half-drow hexblade warlock, and they’ve been dual-wielding scimitars because it makes them feel pretty to have a blade in each hand. (tho i just came upon a very cute war pick, so we might switch one of the scimitars for that)
despite their hobbies, they’re a bit of a goofball and a hedonist. they like feeling powerful, and if they can have a laugh at someone else’s expense, all the better. they lean hard into their whims and whatever seems fun in the moment rather than adhering to any sort of hard and fast moral code—though they won’t go out of their way to harm innocent children or animals. …they also won’t go out of their way to stop others from harming them, though, and they always appreciate a good show.
when they killed the goblin camp leaders, it was purely because there were more goblins than druids and that meant they got to have a bit more fun. (also the idea of siding with the absolute is reprehensible—bending the knee to anyone without getting something worthwhile in return is absolutely anathema to varaen.)
they’re kind of obsessed with astarion—the cruelty of his life in the Before times is fascinating to them, and they rather like how similar his interests are to theirs. they bring out the worst in each other!!! like the two of them are definitely giving slightly megalomaniacal power couple and i love it sjdfhalsdfj
i’ve only played act 2 once, and i’ve gotten to act 3 but never finished it, so i’ve only got some very broad astarion story beats to anticipate but,,,i am very much anticipating them lmfao
