“You’re the boss, Rob.” he saluted and rolled on his back again. “Or well, Cassie usually but in this situation it’s you.” he laughed as Tim whacked his arm and then relented. “Fine, fine. It’s still you though, and I wouldn’t have anyone else that I’d want to lead our team.” he admitted truthfully and sat up to look at Tim. “Really, you’re a great leader.”

Tim didn’t speak for a moment and then he grinned at Kon. “Even over Cassie?” the Kryptonian groaned and Tim raised his hands placatingly, still smiling. “But really, I appreciate you saying that, Kon. It means a lot coming from you.”

Kon just shrugged, laying back down and looking up at the setting sun. The night sky was appearing and there was nothing he liked more than spending his evening up here with Tim. More importantly, Christmas Eve. “Yeah well, it’s true. I wouldn’t say something I didn’t mean.”

i miss them so circus baby headcanons

- when dick was 8 (few months before his parents died) and raymond was 7, haly paid for them both to spend a day at the ski resorts in the alps because of their exceptional school work that week. raya was sick and calvin didn’t want her to feel left out so he stayed behind

- 10 years later, dick takes jason to the same ski resort and makes an offhanded comment about “i’ve been here once before, you know?” , he mentions briefly that he took his other brother here years before and that’s one of the grounding moments of jason & dick becoming brothers to each other

- they all have a different european language as their main language — dick’s is italian, raya is turkish and raymond is croatian. calvin’s is german. they’re all fluent in it.

- they were homeschooled so naturally the four of them would teach each other stuff out of text books and stuff. calvin was the designated flash card maker. raymond kept trying to go onto the trapeze instead of working so raya and dick had to make interesting ways of learning so he would stay focused.

- raymond’s a kinetic learner so dick resorts to teaching him and if he gets a question right, he gets five minutes on the trapeze as a reward. calvin has photographic memory

i was thinking about raptor (mostly bc 3 people sent me the same edit of him, they know me so well) and hes so. weird. back when haley’s circus didn’t go international, he was there and when mary grayson joined the circus with john, he stayed close to the circus. he literally loved her way too much to let her go.

then when she died, he literally kept an eye on dick throughout his life and set himself up to join the court of owls when they expressed an interest in dick and then he killed someone and built up his reputation just so he would he the one they send to work with dick grayson when he joined the court.

he literally hated the court all that time, they are just rich men trying to control a city through the shadows (his whole thing is that he hates rich people in politics) and then he worked with dick to take down the court but set it up so it looked like dick had convinced him to betray the court

and then he tried to get dick to join him as his partner but he fucked up by trying to kill bruce wayne so dick handed him off to spyral’s custody

i ended the demigod batkid au with dick going to visit the camp (bruce doesn’t know of its whereabouts) and i got to thinking.

dick most likely promised to take jason there one day until.. you know. (he took him once before and jason loved it so much so dick promised to take him again when he was back from his mission)

I saw a post on here, i can’t find it now, that said Bruce is a judge, jury and executioner but not executioner in the killing way. And I was thinking about it last night and was like, that is so true.

He’s a vigilante so he breaks laws to bring justice to other parts of the law. So he’s the judge and jury when it comes to deciding to himself (and the people he mentors/works with) what laws they can break and what laws they can work to enforce.

And he’s an executioner because well, he executes the law and hands the criminals over go the justice system to be dealt with. I don’t know if this makes sense, but he’s not a killer so not an executioner in that sense but he fits judge jury and executioner in other ways. Just not. executioner how you would usually think it is.

guess whos back with more comic recs (featuring my recent faves)

also preferably in order because it’s chronologically but thats your own choice. there’s flashbacks / cameos of raya and raymond in #17 onwards (for raya) and #11 onwards (for raymond)

also they’ve all at some point been associated with the court of owls, especially calvin (plus raymond but mostly calvin.) so that’s always fun to explore and if you’re looking for talon characters, calvin and raymond (to an extent) are right there. they all (except calvin) hold some familial connection to dick grayson and they all hold a connection to haly’s circus so yippee for that.
