A Fun Scenario:
Xarina has been on the ship a little over two weeks by now, and she has begun to catch on to the colorful words her crew uses when frustrated. So one night she tracked James down and asked him just what these words meant. Slightly embarrassed and guilty for corrupting an innocent fairy, James sat Xarina down and explained to her the origin and meaning of each and every word.
Xarina experimented with said words, and constantly looked to James to see if she was using them correctly, to which James only face palmed and regretted teaching her in the first place, promptly censoring all the captains orders from that point on.

Headcanon
Zarina always had her hair up in a bun in Pixie Hollow, finding it always easier to work without it blowing in her face. When becoming a Captian, she let her hair down to change, and James commented that she looked beautiful with her hair down.
She never put her hair in an up-do again.
