i honestly believe dexter is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) reasons ravens didn’t sign the book. i wish the show could go into their relationship as much as the books did

In "The Unfairest of Them All", Darling is able to warp time when she blinks/flutters her eyes a certain way. She warns the other students to not look at her while she does it, but Apple does. This leads to Apple staring at Darling in slow motion, while the other students tidy up a mess in a very short time period.

I think it's mentioned that Dexter has a power of sorts, and that his glasses actually shield others from being affected. Daring also appears to have something (like enchanting damsels or something) happen when he smiles/shows his teeth.

I wish the show had explored these elements further than the occasional blinding from Daring's teeth. :(
