When you were younger, you were cursed so that anyone who was an animal or had animal-like qualities would run away from you terrified for seemingly no reason. This upset you to no end as it made it quite difficult to make friends or meet new people as most of them had an animal companion of some sort if they weren't part animal themselves.
Because of this, you became isolated from your peers, spending most of your time alone while you did your best to find some way to break the curse (to no avail). You thought that maybe over time it would go away, but it soon became clear that wasn't going to happen.
When it got time for you to begin attending Ever After High, you were naturally worried about how you were going to fit it. Things went just about as you expected they would: people who had animal traits and were even close with animals kept away from you, no matter how friendly you tried to be.
Ashlynn was polite, but kept conversations short since she was usually followed by a group of small woodland creatures, people like Duchess stuck up their nose at you in solidarity, and Cerise ran away too, for some reason. Even Kitty wouldn't get near you long enough to prank you, something she was notorious for doing to newbies.
The only people who even tried to be your friend was Raven, as she knew what it was like to be an outcast, and Maddie, who kept bouncing around asking questions about your curse despite her pet mouse's frightened squeaks.
Despite all of that, though, there was really only one person who caught your eye: Ramona Badwolf. She looked so cool, even if she was a bit intimidating.
Ramona, in the meantime, had heard rumors about the new student who sent animals and those with their traits running away in terror. She'd initially scoffed when she heard it, as there was absolutely no way that was true.
She went to approach you when you were alone in the hallway, though her tough and scary demeanor was instantly shattered by the sound of a loud, ear piercing ringing sound that seemed to get louder the closer to you she got. No wonder animals ran away.
"What is your deal?!?" She shouted angrily, frustration written clearly on the features of her face as she glared at you.
You turned around, growing sheepish not only at the sight of the Ramona Badwolf, but at how she was yelling at you for seemingly no reason. "Sorry, I have this curse thing. Most animals and those with their traits run away from me because of it," you admitted softly, looking down at the ground.
Ramona scowled at you, her ears laying flat against her head as she covered them with her hands. "Well, something needs to be done about it, because this is just too much for me to handle."
A sudden thought popped into your head. "Hey, maybe you can help me find some way to lift the curse! Then people won't run from me anymore."
"Uh huh, sure. Whatever gets rid of that awful sound," she grumbled, starting to form a splitting headache from the ringing.
Your eyes lit up with excitement. This was perfect! Not only was someone going to help get rid of your curse, but you'd get to spend time with Ramona on top of it. "Come on, the library's bound to have something on curses."
You grabbed her by the arm and began dragging her with you, a low growling sound emitting from your throat at how much louder the noise was now that you were so close. "Fine. But I'm only doing this because I hate that noise."
