On Earth 38, Carter Hall is a half-Thanagarian who was born to the original Hawkman who retired sometime near the end of the 90s, since then Carter has taken up being the current Hawkman.

Caitlin decides that, in order to find out who she is, she needs to leave not only STAR Labs, but her entire dimension. So she uses Cisco's interdimensional door to go to Earth-38, where she hangs out mostly with Alex, but also Kara, Winn and James and the rest of the Superfriends. J'onn and Kara help train her to use her powers, and Alex helps train her in hand-to-hand combat so that Caitlin isn't solely dependent on her powers.
