That’s absolutely the capper on the short-notice reservations for this trip. Aloette is quite the hint into just how interesting Alo and Alobar will be when someday I have the opportunity to plan ahead in advance. The vibe is chill, basic, nostalgic, but also restrained…high cuisine wearing a neighborhood diner costume. Hyper-attentive staff, detailed and balanced dishes, perfectly staggered waves of plates ordered, and every single menu item we ordered absolutely slapped. Night out with @sparklestar56 and our boss at @byblostoronto. The pics that turned out include their phenomenal eggplant & fig dumplings, the sweet jeweled rice, thrice cooked fries, roasted cauliflower, grilled branzino, and a little tower of rolled baklava. Wild finally meeting these two in person after half a year working together. Our first sourdough is out of the oven is looking amazing!!!! The process wasn’t easy, and definitely not short, but as you can see it totally was worth it! First I really need to mention that the merits go fully to my very patient wife, who carefully took care of the starter and all of the measurements that needed to be on point by the gram. I’m happy to say that it is a success and we were crazy excited to see this being made in our own home.
