Question about Mean Gills in the Limited life au:
When you say Martyn and Scott are Twins do you mean in a “this is my brother and you can’t tell me otherwise” or is it more of a nickname of sorts? Like they are so close and coordinated with each other?
They are actually biological twins (but not identical). I figured that the Mafia in this AU were secretive and hard to catch, and based on my research on specifically Italian Mafias (yes I'm doing research for this lol) the "biological" families were always harder to catch than the "oath" families (that is, members who are family only through an oath).
But they are also very close and coordinated outside of that. If they weren't biological, they'd probably still consider each other brothers. This is another reason why they've been able to get away with almost anything, because they are so in sync mentally that they can pretty much get out of any situation and figure out any problem presented to them.
Their personalities and how they present themselves are different, but they are in sync in efficiency, brutality, and intelligence...mostly.
Spoilers for Limited Life Finale: Remember how everyone in the finale was complaining about Scott and Martyn having like 5 hours each, and how it was a little threatening to see them marching around together? Just imagine that: very powerful, and their coordination adds to the fear factor.

Mean Gills in My Limited Life AU
So before I get to lore dumping Mean Gills I want to explain how this story is gonna go:
There will be two main plot-focused story lines that will eventually converge into one. There will be character development, relationship drama, etc. within these plots that you will eventually get to see.
The setting is kind of just Modern New York, but ten times more dangerous cause you could just get blown up by the Clockers or shot by the Bad Boys at any moment.
I also want to say that this story is for teen audiences and up (I think YA is the best descriptor), since there will be violence, drugs, death, etc. (what do you expect when there's literally a mafia and gang XD). If these things are triggering to you, then you probably won't want to read it.
Now MEAN GILLS
In my AU, Martyn and Scott are TWINS. Their family is one of many families involved with the local MAFIA. They grew up familiar with violence and coercion, and were involved in a lot of money-making schemes such as theft, illegal deals, money laundering, and murdering since they were children.
There ability to adapt to each situation, success, and no-nonsense attitudes led them to quickly rise the ranks.
Martyn is the Underboss, and direct heir to the boss. He's the bolder of the pair
Scott is the Consigliere, who mediates disputes. He is very cold and calculated.
These two (and the Mafia as a whole) are a very dangerous "force" (idk how else to say it) in this world. Most people don't know who they are, and if you do, you're probably dead.
In their free time, they go fishing together.

The Clockers in my Limited Life AU
I'M BACK BITCHES!!!! Sorry for the long wait. I made my last post on this...3 months ago damn.
Track season and basketball season went well if you're interested, and now school is over, SO I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO WORK ON THIS...I also got distracted writing another fic (you can check it out Here)
But now I'm back and I'm gonna post the first chapter of Even Broken Clocks and Crack very soon. Saturday at the latest.
Now onto the CLOCKERS, who are definitely my favorite of the bunch.
The Clockers are a very public crime family, and are the most destructive in the whole city. They have evaded the police for many years and are considered terrorists, even though they do these things just for fun. They are most hunted by the FBI. They make homemade bombs, rob stores, burn buildings to the ground, and every now and then they just bomb a street for no reason. They have the highest known mortality rate, with their attacks usually killing at least 3 people.
The Clockers used to be a family of 4 but that has since changed.
Cleo Clocker is the head and matriarch of the family. She like in her Mid-fifties and greying a little bit. She always organizes their attacks and has been training the boys since they were young. Whether this is bad parenting or not is up to you.
Bdubs Clocker is the oldest child (which is unusual since most people make him the youngest but you will see eventually) and he's the wildcard.
Scar Clocker is the youngest child and the best fighter in the group, and maybe a little bit of an pyromaniac. He always sets off the most bombs and sets the most fires.
Both Bdubs and Scar are in their mid-twenties.
I also imagine them wearing matching Aetherpunk outfits (just imagine the clothing from Arcane)
There is also Gem. Gem isn't an active participant in the Clockers' hijinks but every now and then helps make bombs, plan attacks, and tries to treat their wounds. She Cleo's younger sister and lives with the Clockers.
The reason she lives with them is because, when the Clockers first went public, Cleo feared that the FBI would go after Gem because of her relation to the family, so she got Gem to move in with them.

In this AU, the Bad Boys are a gang, the Mean Gills are the Mafia, the Clockers are a famous crime family, TIES are FBI agents, and the Nosy Neighbors are Rogue spies.
I will elaborate further on this AU eventually, and what I'm planning to write.
