I know Beyblade doesn’t touch much upon the subject of ethnicity, even thou we can speculate, this are some characters that are suppose to be black.

Rick, I headcanon him half black half native. In the manga he is from California, and his bit beast is a bison but I don’t know if there are bisons in California? Maybe he has relatives in Paiute or the Navajo nation. (Feel free to punch me in the face if any of what I said is offensive)

Eddy was done dirty in G REV! omg! they whitewashed him! Everyone is paler in G rev, but he also got a tiny pointy nose and it was terrible. 

After Ariana Miyamoto became miss Japan why can’t Ming Ming also be half black, I headcanon everyone in the Bega team to have mixed nationalities actually.

I love Moses/Crusher because he is a soft big brother, I never get bored of big scary guys being softies, I made him rounder thou, he is still young.

I didn’t drew Aaron because even thou I like his design, he doesn’t have much of a personality?

Eddy “Not Even In The BEGA Arc” Smith and/or Wheeler Headcanons

Eddy was born in raised in Baltimore. 

Eddy’s mom is a one on one reading support at the local school board.

His dad holds some sort of vague government office position, and makes the hour long commute to DC from Baltimore every morning. 

He has a younger twin sister named Annika, and they’re very close. His teammates always like to point out that Eddy’s also a twin when people talk about the dynamic F-Sangre duo. 

Annika was really into Disney Channel Original Movies when she was a teenager, and by proxy, Eddy knows what he believes are far too many of the songs from Highschool Musical. 

Eddy’s maternal grandmother lives with them. She’s Haitian, and the kids grew up speaking Haitian French and Haitian Creole. 

Eddy took French in high school for an easy credit. 

He shocks everyone by being able to switch from English, to Haitian French, to the French he learned in school at the drop of a hat. 

He loves a good meme. 

Eddy was a fairly voracious reader growing up, and would read any sci-fi, fantasy, or adventure book he could get his hands on. He used to go so far as to write and illustrate his own stories whenever he ran out of things to read and would have to hold out for his weekly trip to the library. As he got older, these progressed into short comic strips. 

He started drawing less when basketball started becoming more serious as he got into high school.

He still doodles constantly, much to the chagrin of Judy or Emily when they’re going over data, having team meetings, or going over new strategies.

When Eddy joined the All Starz, he had a girlfriend who he’d been with all through high school, but she broke up with him after he let the early rise to fame get to his head. 

He’s always appreciated her for knocking him down a peg, and while he can still be over confident at times, he tries not to let it get in the way of his personal relationships outside of the sport. 

Eddy dates the least, but has the most long term relationships. 

He’s also friendly with his exes. 

Eddy likes to go to the cinema, and makes an effort to go see new movies in the theatre when they come out. He’ll sometimes invite his teammates to go with him, but he doesn’t mind going alone and often will for that every important “me time”.
