The North Shore Line ceased operations less than a year after this photo was taken, in January 1963, due in large part to commuters choosing to use the new Interstate highway system instead of rail transportation to get to and from Chicago. This is represented in this photo by the Edens Expressway (Interstate 94) bridge in the background at right.

I am working on a new project with choreographer Jennifer Monson; video artist, Robin Vachel; lighting designer, Joe Lavasseur; and costume designer, Susan Becker called "Live Dance Archive." The above video documents an informal showing of the work at the Eden's Expressway for the 2012 Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) in New York City.

The work is commissioned by The Kitchen, a interdisciplinary center for media, literacy, and performing arts founded in 1971.

APAP is the national service and advocacy organization dedicated to developing and supporting the performing arts presenting field.
