Good news!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got my fucking CPAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Which I learned is technically an APAP bc it's Automatic and not Continuous but they'd already been called CPAPs for so long that's what people know them as.) I slept with it last night for the first time, and it's something I'll need to get used to for sure. I slept like shit, but still WAY better than I anticipated with a bunch of shit strapped to my head.

I'm gonna have to do some adjusting. The lower straps were too tight and I woke up with an angry red indent on my neck that was sore -- even though the strap seemed fine when I went to bed. I also need to turn the humidity and temperature up. My lips were pretty dry this morning even though I'd put a BUNCH of lip balm on. It's also rough that I can't get a drink without taking the face part off and back on. I usually sip on water a bit before I fall asleep and whenever I wake up in the night. It's gonna take me a while to get used to this. But I'm going to be getting oxygen the ENTIRE TIME I'm asleep now, and I won't wake up to choking dreams all the time anymore????? Fucking WILD shit. I'm so excited for sleeping better.

One of the big drawbacks is that it makes my bedtime routine WAYYYYYYYYYYY longer. Not bc of the machine and mask setup, which is pretty simple, but bc I have to wait 30 mins for my acne shit to soak into my face so it doesn't damage the silicone on the mask. And I ALREADY have to wait 15-30 mins after washing my face to put the acne shit on. So even WITHOUT the rest of my nighttime routine, I'm now up to 45-75 minutes of nighttime routine 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 How am I supposed to SLEEP 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

But. Regardless. I'm going to be breathing in my sleep now. Even when I stop breathing, the machine will force air down my throat. So I'll get better quality sleep once I get used to it.

I did have to change my side nose piercing, though, bc the mask doesn't fit well with a ring so I had to switch to a stud.

Also? I can track my sleep with an APP. My machine will send data to my doctor and my phone using cell phone towers (any tower, regardless of provider). That is SO FUCKING COOL. And it has a ton of cool features. It is SO versatile. I was really dreading the first few months of using it, but it's way easier and more comfortable than I could have imagined. I might chop off all my hair, though. The silicone strap has been fine so far, but the cloth straps feel weird over my hair and sometimes make my hair touch my ears.
