Do you know if there is a/ what’s the difference between Synesthesia and just associating certain colours with songs etc?

I think there's a slight difference? I think the majority of people do associate colors with songs/ letters/ numbers/ whatever...which I think would just be associative thinking

Synesthesia is where you can literally SEE the colors in songs, like IN your vision? Or at least that's how it is for me. I can feel textures through certain songs on my skin, or I can smell certain colors?

Idk, I guess I would say the difference is that associative thinking is just that, associating, while synesthesia is more of a physical experience

But I'm not an expert guys I'm just taking a guess...that's what makes most sense to me T-T

So I've been thinking and researching katekyo hitman reborn a lot for this fanfic I'm writing, and I've been having trouble finding out how long ago from Tsuna and Reborn's meeting the "Fated Day" was. I didn't have much luck, so I'm going try to solve it on my own.

Let’s start with this little tidbit:

So through this, we can track how long ago the "Fated Day" was, right? It should be simple math; look at Shamal's age and estimate how old he'd have been when he erased Reborn's past, and we'll have a rough guess for when the Arcobaleno were cursed.

With that in mind, I googled his age. And googled. Entered some weird sites and discussions. Googled some more. Evidently, there’s been a lot of googling just for Shamal’s age. It took me a while, but here's what I found:

The thing is, I only found one specific mention of age, and I can't find any translation of the source material. At least, translation of the specific page in the source that I was looking for. There’s a lot of translations for the popular characters in the other pages, but little to nothing for this one. It makes me doubt the authenticity, especially as I’ve only ever seen any indication of Shamal’s age on this site alone.

I'm personally not sure if it was really in the actual source or if this is just a guess. However, if you're fluent in reading Japanese, I recommend checking just in case. Here's the source material:

So, let's just take that age with a grain of salt since I haven't yet confirmed it. To be clear, I'm going to assume this age is when he was first shown, as the rest of the characters in the page and the scarce few translations I found have Tsuna at 14.

So, what we have is this:

Shortly after the Fated Day, Reborn went to Shamal to erase his past and "give birth" to a new him (weird terms but go off i guess)

Shamal is supposedly 35 years old in what I assume is the present

It feels like there’s to little information, right? And it is, but also not. With our goal right now, this is most, if not all, of what wee need. The thing is, Shamal is pretty young to be a doctor. I'd say he was 30 when Reborn was cursed, and that would mean that the Fated Day was 5 or so years prior to Reborn meeting Tsuna.

Except that doesn't make sense. According to Chapter 386 of the manga, in The Curse of the Rainbow Arc, Bermuda says that the cycle for the curse is spread far apart, and I don't know about you but 5 years feels pretty different from "far apart." Far aparat, for me, is decades. 5 years wouldn’t be enough.

Even if we stretch Shamal's age to the limits, which I think would be between 20-25 years old, 18 if we're desperate, that's still 10-17 years and not far apart enough to make people forget.

What would make people forget is a 20-30 year time frame, and we can't just lower Shamal's age like that. He'd be 5-15. He may be smart, and the best at what he does, but I don't think he's smart enough to erase a whole identity at 15.

Basically, the timeline doesn't fit, not when we assume Shamal is 35. If he was 45 or so, then that would help this case, but as it is, I'm only contradicting my info. Shamal’s supposed age is too young, and this theory is making me even more skeptical of the legitimacy of the site I found. More proven facts with solid sources would be greatly appreciated.

On that note, the theory is inconclusive because of conflicting data. However, I'll still be using this and tweaking my data a little for the purposes of my fanfic. Ah, the magic of fanfiction; we can easily tweak some facts for our purposes.

I’m starting to wonder if that’s a bit of foreshadowing on the production’s part?
