So last year I had to write a persuasive essay for my English class. The topic was "Are humans born good or evil?" Pretty simple, right? Throughout the unit we had gotten sources for the evidence we needed to use. I initially chose to write that people are inherently bad. Just my opinion. Anyway, I went through all of the papers we had gotten to use as sources, and there were a lot of them, to look for what I needed to back up my opinion. Turns out, the teacher had given us a grand total of one source for that side of the argument. I ended up having to change the topic of the essay and write against my actual belief because of the lack of information given. We were told we had a fair choice, but the entire assignment was biased. If that doesnt show whats wrong with the education system, then I don't know what does.
