I guess my astor doesn't need that weird orb in order to wield magic. Actually, I headcanon it to be part of a set with the bands (? Idk what they're called but you'll see where I'm going with this) as to me they're very similar to the ones that ancient monk we play as in Age of Calamity uses, and what does his allow him to do? Use ancient tech more efficiently. So who's to say that the astrolabe and those wristbands aren't working with the same system? I actually believe that they're Sheikah in origin to begin with. But in this case Astor may have had them modified to be able to use that magic even without the orb. In my au he actually found them on an expedition with the castle gang to some ancient ruins (maybe it had ties to the cult... remains to be seen, why would the cult have ties to the sheikah huh? Or maybe...... hehe)
I'm pretty sure I've said all that before ancient I was NOT planning on writing all this but okay... tell me what you think, am I cooking here? XD
