Are Pearl and Rose in a romantic relationship? I'm really confused on their relationship status
They're currently also really confused on their relationship status.
But if you're asking 'is the nature of their feelings for one another romantic' then the answer is, on at least one level, yes.
On the other levels, it's arguably more than romantic - they've literally started a war together and dedicated a lot to one another. Rose unabashedly loves Pearl and obviously Pearl loves Rose.
The nature of that relationship is kind of hard to pin down with a simple 'romantic' or 'platonic'. I hate those terms, personally, and find them really simplistic and reductive, especially considering they're human words for human relationships - not gem relationships.
They're not....dating. They're..........doomed by the narrative together. Hand in hand. Inevitably entangled in one another's lives, for better or for worse. They know each other's deepest secrets and yet they also don't quite understand one another at this time.
