Every four days throughout September I’ll post things that make my world a better place.
Egg custard, village/league cricket, my Mum, chickens (specifically Light Sussex).
Bought these pastries from Mei Kee Bakery (美記餅家) in Yishun Bus Interchange. The cinnamon-scented Apple Tart used to cost just S$1.50 but had since gone up to S$2 apiece, a whopping increase of S$0.50! Likewise for the caramelized Portuguese Egg Tart from S$1.50 to S$2 each. Do refresh the tarts in the oven if you are eating them the next day as the pastry shell will get soggy.
I had a nice New Year's Eve dinner with my family. We have some meals but we liked the beef and cheese flavored pizza my younger brother bought. My brother works on a pizza restaurant and he said that beef pizza is one of the most expensive flavors there. Too bad there's only one left and we have to eat another pizza that has pineapple toppings on it later.
My mother bought two leche flans (egg custard) from my uncle. She went to church mass in the morning and then she dined with uncle and his wife's relatives on a certain pizza restaurant after that. The leche flan tasted good but I think there are some desserts I'll try to eat after midnight.
