Im fairly behind on a few hermits so I’m only just watching Pearl’s episode 10 and seeing her POV of the EGG shenanigans first was amazing especially since my reaction upon seeing them show up was “What is EGG doing here?”

Egg Group: Flying

Welcome back everyone, to my Egg Group talks! Today we'll be covering the Egg Group, Flying, which consists almost entirely of Flying type Pokémon. There is one exception, but we'll get there! This egg group has 57 Pokémon in it, with a majority being only in the Flying category. Only 13 Pokémon are also in other egg groups, making breeding a little more difficult than other groups.

Pokémon in the Flying type egg group consist of all sorts of creatures that fly. Birds, bats, dinosaurs, whatever Togekiss is, and then the oddball; Sigilyph. Where most Flying category Pokémon have solid means of flying, such as feathered wings or bat-like wings, Sigilyph is possibly made out of clay, as they are from Ancient Times, and they don't have functioning wings. We assume it flies using psychic powers. Sigilyph, however, is not the exception I was talking about!

Decidueye is! This owl pokémon is Grass/Ghost type, which defies the entirety of the Flying category Pokémon, as every other Pokémon in this category has the flying type. However, fortunately, it is still very easy to see why Decidueye fits into this category, due to being a bird.

Egg Group flag time

Bug Egg Group: An Egg Group of creatures that are insectoids, arthropods, or share a similar body/traits with common earth insects and arachnids (examples being Drapion, Caterpie, Gliscor, and Burmy).

Field Egg Group: An Egg Group of creatures that are terrestrial, very common in fields and patches of grass, and possibility (but not always) mammalian (examples being Rattata, Tauros, Eevee, and Dunsparce).

Flying Egg Group: An Egg Group of creatures that are avian/bird-like, or are notable for being in the air/their ability to fly (examples being Pidgey, Togetic, and Archen).

Human-Like Egg Group: An Egg Group of creatures that have similar characteristics to humans, such as standing and walking on two legs, and/or possessing arms with which they could manipulate objects or deliver blows. (Examples being Machop, Hitmonlee, and Ralts).

No Eggs Discovered Egg Group: An Egg Group category for creatures that cannot breed or be categorized into an Egg Group, whether they are too immature/"baby-coded" to breed, or they are mythical, deity-like, or something else unique and special. (Examples being Pichu, Cleffa, Mew, Cosplay Pikachu, most special form event Pokemon, etc).
