Yes, and single images will crop too. Here's some samples.

All five icons here should be display fully, but the first and last ones are cut off.

And for these theme preview images, you can see the sidebar images on the left are cropped a little, as are the Tumblr controls and my theme credit on the right.

It only seems to crop the sides -- the top and bottom are always fine.

Also @phantasyreign I will try that NPF fixer you linked and see what that does. Thank you!

for ask meme: How did you find tumblr/what made you make an account?

oh, hello egg! thanks for the question.

I found tumblr through - shocker - fandom. I saw that a lot of other people who loved the show Queer as Folk (US) were on here so I naturally followed the pack. Now, it’s been almost 9 years and still here

Is there a game that you've played that you would *not* recommend? Or similarly, is there a game that you liked the gameplay of but not the story (or the reverse)?

games I’ve played that I wouldn’t recommend:

ocean’s heart — I really wanted to like this game. it looked adorable, has vibrant pixel art and a pretty good soundtrack, but unfortunately fell short in the gameplay. the combat is messy and the map doesn’t do a very good job at showing where you are. I finished the story but about halfway through it started to feel like a chore

deiland — essentially a farming sim where you can control the weather to an extent. you can fish too, so that’s always a plus. but the ‘combat’ is sloppy as anything, the characters are bland (except for maybe the pirate) and soon enough I was playing just to max out the achievements

games where I liked the gameplay but not the story:

the red strings club — the bartending is SO SATISFYING. the gameplay also varies more than I’d expect for a visual novel, which I love! the story isn’t bad at all, but I felt like not everything they hyped up in the early game really tied well with the ending. I still enjoyed it though

games where I liked the story but not the gameplay:

night call — I mean I did make a page for it so! all of the characters were interesting, relatable, loveable and unique, but I feel like although the main story ends well, the game doesn’t do a good job at tying the characters’ conversations together with the plot. the dialogue options were great, but the main meat; the whole reason why our main character is in his current position, what his mission is - we don’t get to do much with the info. sure we can find out “the answer”, but not much execution is involved.

(( I know there’s a certain restriction as to what a visual novel can do in terms of gameplay, but I’m currently playing VA-11 Hall-A and so far it masters both story and gameplay! ))

I was scrolling through youtube like the bored 7th grader I was and came across this exact mv (I think it’s been reuploaded because I discovered this song in 2009?) and I was hooked by the different vibe it gave as opposed to Western pop, like (I’m not sure how to describe it I’m seoifhsofh??) and also

For the ask meme! What was the first custom theme you ever used?

Hm, a custom theme...? You mean like something I made myself? I’m afraid I don’t actually know how to code, in spite of finding blog themes fascinating and cool to look at.

If you’re talking about something from like, the Theme Garden or whatever, though, I’m not sure specifically which one I used on this blog first, but I do remember specifically that I had a sideblog from some of the earliest days of this account where I used the theme called... Saturday, I think? Basically I liked it bc it was highly customizable with its colors, which is something I like to consider for themes to this very day!

Something that I think was pasted code instead of something from the theme garden had to do with Pride Month a couple of years ago, but I can’t for the life of me remember what that one was called, or who made it. I remember it had rainbow-gradient outlines on all the posts, I think a (possibly animated) rainbow-gradient for the blog title, an optional header image (I think), and most specifically, a sort of strip separating the side header and the posts that could be toggled to different pride flag colors, and could also be customized if one’s flag wasn’t on there, up to like, 7 or 8 stripes I believe? (Or if you wanted something other than a pride flag, I suppose, lol.) It also had an option for an image to go in the far bottom right corner. I wish I could remember what it was; it was kind of neat.
