To survive this life,
We should be kind and honest
Pure, brave, and patient
Niyama - Personal Observances
Look within they say
Find Astikya; Santosha
Walk with faith in all
Asana - Physical Postures
Be here in the now
Breathe, stretch, grow with each movement
Feel the sensations
Pranayama - Control of the Breath
Inhale, then exhale
Connect and steady your breath
Feel it move within
Pratyahara - Control of the Senses
Sight, smell, touch, taste, hear
These five incredible gifts
Remove them, and be
Dharana - Concentration
Your mind sees the breath
As it travels from chakra
To chakra; focus
Dhyana - Meditation
Dim the lights down low
Find a comfortable seat
Create space in time
Samadhi - Union with the Divine
When you are ready
Allow it all to be free
Perhaps Nirvana
