Vil Schoenheit was confused. And he is never confused.
And it all started with a simple conversation with his girlfriend Eislyn.
“I cannot believe G is dating someone as lazy as that lion”. He mused once during their nighttime skincare session/sleepover.
Eislyn looked at him confused. “What?” She asked.
Vil turned to look at his girlfriend, who was currently flipping through a magazine. “G and Leona are dating, are they not?” He asked once more.
Eislyn shook her head with a laugh. “Oh no, not at all! In fact, if you even mention the suggestion of them dating they act as if you suggested sacrificing them.”
Vil could only stare in shock. “What.” He repeated.
“Mhm. Those two are impossible.” Eislyn said, not bothering to take her eyes off the magazine, as if she was already use to this sort of thing.
Vil’s mind was reeling. “Wait wait wait,” he said, leaving his spot at his vanity to sit next to Eislyn. “You’re meaning to tell me that Leona Kingscholar and G Anchor don’t have feelings for each other?”
“That’s what they want you to think.” Eislyn replied. “Believe me, I’m as surprised as you that they aren’t dating.” She put down the magazine. “They’re practically attached at the hip and give each other these looks.”
Vil understood immediately. “His protectiveness over them during STYX was also out of his nature,” he tapped the blanket in thought, “I’m going to investigate.”
Eislyn shrugged. “Your funeral.” She said with a grin.
————————————————————————
The first one Vil asked was G. They were easy enough to find with the help of Eislyn.
“Good luck,” Eislyn muttered as she passed by. Vil rolled his eyes playfully before turning his attention to G.
“Lyn said you wanted to see me?” They asked, leaning against the stone wall.
“Yes, how are you faring?” Vil asked.
“I’m doing fine. But that’s not what you want to talk about, is it?” They replied, tilting their head at him.
“Nothing ever gets past you, huh?” Might as well say it straight. “Are you and Kingscholar dating?” He asked.
G stared at the actor as if he had grown two heads. “What?” They asked confused.
“I don’t mean to jump to anything-but Kingscholar seems to care about you a lot.” He said, “I was just curious.”
G chuckled as if Vil had told a joke. “Leona and I are simply friends,” they explained. “Of course he’d look out for me. I’d do the same.”
Vil noticed the slight change in their voice. While it appears they were attempting to maintain a neutral tone, hints of reluctance and hesitation were evident.
As if they want to say something different. Something more…personal.
Vil nodded in understanding. “I understand. I apologize if I said anything out of turn.”
G shook their head. “It’s fine. I know you didn’t mean anything about it.” They grinned, back to their usual self. “Im going to head out though, got plans. See you Vil.” They left with a wave.
Vil waved back, his mind churning. There’s something more to this than what appears.

Vil found Leona later that afternoon in the Botanical Gardens, napping away underneath a tree. The lion beastman’s ears twitched slightly as Vil’s heels clacked against the path.
“What do ya want?” He asked with a yawn, not bothering to sit up.
Vil sighed. “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
Leona rolled his eyes. “You came to hound me about skipping again?”
“No, it’s about G.”
Leona’s reaction was immediate. He sat up straighter, eyes alert. “What happened to them?”
Vil raised a hand in a placating manner. “They are alright. I am merely curious about something.”
Leona seemed to calm a little bit from that, but still did not move from his sitting up position. “Well? What is it? I ain’t a walking G dictionary.”
Eislyn would say otherwise. Vil thought. “I was wondering about your relationship with them.”
Leona arched an eyebrow. “Meaning?” He prompted.
“Are you and G dating?” Vil asked.
Leona looked at him as if Vil suggested he tear out his teeth. “What.”
“It’s just, you and G seem very close-“
“Which doesn’t mean we’re dating.” Leona cut him off. “We’re close because their presence doesn’t annoy me. Unlike someone.” He purposefully glared at Vil when he said this.
Vil, undeterred, raised his hands. “Listen, I was just wondering.” He said.
Leona scoffed. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” He motioned his hand in a ‘go away’ motion. “Now if you excuse me, I’ve got better things to do than entertain meaningless questions.”
Vil gracefully shrugged. “Alright. Do not forgot to come to the housewarden meeting tomorrow.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Leona grumbled in return.
Vil turned to leave before a lightbulb went off in his head. “Oh, and Kingscholar?”
The beastman grunted in reply.
“Keep your relationship with G alright? They seem to be doing good for you.” With that he left, heels clacking against the pathway.
Leona grumbled something, but Vil noticed how his tail wagged back and forth.
————————————————————————
“They are going to be the death of me.” Vil muttered one day during lunch.
Eislyn looked up from her lunch, a questioning expression on her face. She followed his eyes towards a table towards the back of the cafeteria, where G and Leona sat side by side. “You’re still thinking about that, huh?” She asked with a grin.
Vil dropped his voice to a stage whisper. “Eislyn, Leona simply does not let anyone that near to him. I have not even seen Ruggie that close.” He gestured over to said table where G stole food off Leona’s place. “Or let anyone still his food without getting their hand ripped off in the process.”
His girlfriend chuckled. “Welcome to my life. I have no clue how on earth G was able to get that close to him. But,” she hummed thoughtfully. “You do have to admit that they are good for one another.”
Vil sighed. Eislyn was right. There was an undeniable chemistry between the two, even if it wasn’t obvious to the pair themselves.
“Sevens save us all,” he muttered.
————————————————————————
The sevens did not save him.
Vil was back in the Botanical Gardens, this time curating the blossoms needed for his potions assignment. Satisfied with his work, he began to make his way out of the gardens. Then something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Curious, he turned to see two people laying beneath a shady tree.
Most likely a couple. He thought. Then he saw the familiar tail and purple-dyed hair and took a double take. You’ve got to be kidding me.
Sure enough, upon further glance, it was G and Leona. Leona had his head leaning onto G’s while his arm cushioned their head and his tail laid across them. G was curled up into Leona’s side, their head supported on his shoulder, breathing synced with his.
Vil sighed quietly as to not wake the pair. “For people who claim they are not a couple, they sure look like one,” he muttered as he left. Might as well let them sleep.
————————————————————————
—-
“…and that’s what happened.” Vil finished. Eislyn grinned at him. Vil sighed. “Go ahead.”
She bursted out laughing. Normally Vil would find her laughter adorable, but right now he groaned and covered his face.
“They’re impossible!” He exclaimed. “How on earth can they not see it?! They’d be perfect for one another!”
Eislyn kept laughing at her boyfriend’s misery. “Welcome to my life!” She finally wheezed out. “They’re adorable together but oh my goodness!” the fencer paused for breath. “One of them needs to fess up.”
Vil nodded. “Exactly. But we cannot help with that, can we?” He asked.
Eislyn shook her head. “Nope. They’ve got to do it on their own.” She sighed. “I’m pretty sure there’s betting pools.”
Vil sighed too. “I won’t be surprised if Epel was apart of them.” He grumbled,
Eislyn sympathetically patted him on the back. “There there. At least we have free entertainment.”
“Am I not entertaining enough for you?” Vol asked, jokingly placing a hand on his chest. “Darling, you hurt me.”
Eislyn rolled her eyes fondly. “Yes, yes. I know.” She kissed him on the cheek before scooting towards the DVDs. “Now let’s find something to watch, hm?”
Vil sighed. “Alright. You can pick.”

Wanted to finish drawing out some hcs for fire spirits and how their having kids and all of that work
Headcanons under the cut!
-Fire spirits can reproduce with or without a partner, but due to the close knit nature of them they tend to do the latter, and it’s even common for a whole group to have their wicks/kits together
-Fire spirit fire is magic in nature, in the sense that it’s very similar to ‘regular’ fire, but has some other properties: Such as being able to only spread so far before being completely stopped via their will(Like the areas you have to unlock in the forest), and, importantly for this, they can use it to create more fire spirits
-Said fire is used to burn wood/other flammable and readily available resources depending on location. If there’s more than one fire spirit, the ashes that are resulted from it are mixed together before the ashes are molded into humanoid shapes. After a certain amount of time a new fire spirit emerges, the more volatile the magic of the flames(Mostly determined by the age of the fire spirit. Ex: A fire spirit who just reached adulthood is more volatile and powerful than one on death’s doorsteps) the less this time is
-Fire spirits will very soon afterwards do their death ritual, having very little to no contact with their offspring. Some even perform the rituals before the new fire spirits emerge. This is mainly due to there being a set amount of fire spirits that can exist at once, with the population always the same and new fire spirits actually being created through reincarnation on previous lives
-Fire spirits are blue at emergence. They burn much brighter than adults, and with little control over their own self tend to cause forest fires and the like. All fire spirits are afab. They are hungry critters and consume a lot of flammable materials, which may or may not be an issue if there is civiliation near where they live. They will eventually begin to cool down as they get older, with those close to death being almost burned out and dark in color
Fire Spirit Reproduction with Non-Fire Spirit Partners
-A rare thing. Not many fire spirit groups live close enough to civilization to even meet those outside of their race, and even then not many fall for outsiders or outsiders to them. Fire spirits are a fast aging and dying race, and as such tend to burn out or do their rituals before getting close enough to somebody outside of their groups. Even if this were to happen, many would choose to not reproduce with their partners due to said not long life, as well as their offspring being long living and throwing off the balance of their live to dead ratio of the limited number of fire spirits there can be. Basically also making this frowned down upon in their society
-All of this makes Conductor/Conway a special case. As such the means of his creation was a little special as well. There was fire magic and wood involved, but also feathers from his father used in the burning. He was also only a single wick/kit instead of a group of two or more, common among fire spirits who choose to reproduce without a partner
-While taking up a spot for a living fire spirit, half-fire spirit offspring don’t exactly fit the bill of a fullbred. They live much longer than the short life of a fire spirit, don’t have as much magic, and are more physical in the sense they arient just beings of fire. Like fire spirits, however, all hybrids are also afab, and this can continue for several generations. And while they have little magic, rather than being purely made of it, they are still dangerous and can be set off by strong emotions that can wreak damage. Hybrids, like full, are also harmed by water, but more so like an allergic reaction rather than physically getting harmed/damaged. However, unlike fire spirits, hybrids cannot die from water exposure, doesn’t make dealing with it fun, though. Hybrids will also suffer from the urge to want to do their death ritual when they are much older, like elderly. Though it’s less intense than a fire spirits’, and it takes them longer/more years before they have them
-Conway specific hcs: His mother actually didn’t perform the ritual until much much later. She felt the constant urge to do it after having Conway, but wanted to be in his life for as long as possible. This eventually ended when conway was about 4-6 and she was getting close to burning out, and had no choice but to do the ritual or not be reincarnated later on/lowering the number of fire spirits even more than she already had by having Conway
That’s about all I could cook up! Hope I articulated everything well lol
Revamped the design of my older DND characters, since the campaign is getting reworked and starting again c: more info about her backstory below
Eislyn is a noble who was raised in a cult in The Holy Ark Covenant due to her being able to speak to their “God”. She fell in love with a Viscount Uriel from Veine, and the two got married in secret. When her parents, the leaders of the cult, found out they took and murdered him as a sacrifice, and lesson to their daughter.
In retaliation, she took up studying necromancy and with months and months of endless work, she managed to bring him back and summon him to her side- the only issue is that he has no recollection of his memories, nor can he talk (and he very much looks dead inside:tm:)
She knows that she has no way of hiding him from everyone, and so decided that the only way she can survive is to run away- but since she was watched carefully and kept sheltered all her life she had no idea what to do or where to go.
Stressful days full of running, taking the train, and running from law enforcement from other country walls, she runs into a run down tavern where she’s given a room to stay in. Then, a mysterious yet familiar person gives her an offer she couldn’t refuse.
