El’s MAG 106 (A Matter of Perspective) thoughts and review
Jan Kilbride is one of the member of the crew of Dedalus. He was mentionned in MAG57 (Personal Space) and in MAG99 (Dust to Dust). Gertrude says he’s linked with The Buried (« For the Buried, however, I do have what I believe might be quite an effective plan forming. Assuming, of course, that my suspicions about Jan Kilbride are correct, and that’s something that should be easy enough to determine once he’s back on Earth. »)
The other members of the crew are Carter Chilcott (MAG57) and Manuela Dominguez. I would not be surprised if Manuala has an episode on her own.
Mr. Fairchild is definitely a name I’ve already heard but I don’t remember in which episodes.
Okay so after a brief in research in the transcripts this name has appeared in SO MUCH EPISODES, usually when they’re about enclosed space or spaces you can get lost in (the sky, the sea, a cave, the space). In MAG21 (Freefall), the skydive instructor in named Harriet Fairchild. There’s also an old man named Simon Fairchild, and the Archivist says about him : « It might just be a coincidence, but I recall the name ‘Simon Fairchild’ was one of the ones used by- ». Very Strange indeed. In MAG51 (High Pressure), it’s Simon Fairchild who give a mission to the divers. The name of the boat is The Maria Fairchild. The Archivist says about the Fairchild family that they’re « an exceptionally wealthy family based down in Cornwall. No real business to speak of, but it appears they’ve invested very wisely in aerospace technology, shipping logistics, and underwater drilling and construction. ». Simon Fairchild was also possibly a con artist during the 1930s according to Jon. In MAG57, the Archivist notes that Pinnacle Aerospace is owned by the Fairchild family. In MAG89, Jude Perry says that Michael Crew « hangs out with the Fairchilds sometimes ».
My bestie also said to me that the reason the name Fairchild sticks to me is because of the ads before TMA episodes ("hi it’s Karim, the voice of Simon Fairchild in The Magnus Archives") and she’s RIGHT
if Jon is canon ace I’m losing my mind (in a good way)(I love good aspec representation)
It’s the second time that I hear the Magnus Institute’s employees using the term « anchors ». The first time was in MAG99, when Georgie said to Jon that he needs anchors to not getting crazy and paranoid. I wonder if it’s just like a basic fact or if it’s linked to The Eye’s powers.
I really like space episodes but I preferred Personal Space. It felt more… spooky ?
I think I preferred Personal Space because it’s linked to The Lonely, whether this ep is linked to the Vast. I love episodes tied to The Lonely
