Playing skyrim because its fun. Anyways, I tried to pickpocket a random hunter along the road while following Barbaras, since I want to get my pickpocket skill up for when I inevitably go join the thieves guild. I tried to take his arrows and failed, but instead of him attacking me like anyone else would, he said "you could've just asked" and kept freaking walking. What a guy.

Has anyone else noticed how haunted the Whiterun plains are? I can think of three ghost encounters off the top of my head. The first is the ghosts from the book of love quest, then the ghosts from the farming CC (debatable whether that's technically canon but I'll count it), and also the headless horseman.

A lot of people also think Rorikstead is weird, even weirder that these are all in Rorikstead's general vicinity (or rather that Rorikstead is also in the Whiterun plains). Maybe some of Rorikstead's 'weirdness' (timeline discrepancies, theorised deadra worship, etc.) is just to do with it being in one of the more haunted areas of the game?

Nearby there's also a bunch of Forsworn with a hagraven, and also a vampire lair, as well as lots of ruined ancient Nordic structures dotted around the area. The ancient Nordic ruins especially might help explain the ghosts? (With the ancient Nords using a lot of necromancy, hence why their ruins are filled with draugar and skeletons. It seems like there was a larger Nordic ruin there at some point that hasn't quite survived? If I remember right that vampire lair also seems to have a lot of ancient nordic architecture in there, and looks like it might have been a small ancient nordic burial ground, or part of a larger ancient nordic ruin that has since been mostly destroyed? Especially if most of it was on the surface, or it's been slowly exposed for whatever reason?

Idk what specifically I'm getting at, just that I wish more people would focus on how weird the Whiterun plains are as a whole instead of just focusing on Rorikstead. It's like the whole area is cursed or something.

"Stormcloaks or Empire" now that just sounds like you're asking if I'm a republican or a democrat.

Stormcloaks are just dumb. They lack critical thinking and any possible discernment. And yet they carry such a large fanbase. Dare I say around 80% of the fandom seems to align with the stormcloaks?

You're siding with the group that actively chooses the Empire's religion while claiming to follow the old ways to the point of saying that you're one of the true sons of Skyrim. Honey, no. That's not how that works. Don't get me wrong, the events of Skyrim seemed to have been thrown together haphazardly while ignoring a lot of the lore but a lot of you like to ignore all of that. There were maybe two characters actually following their ancestral religion and never claiming to be a child of Skyrim...gee, I wonder why.

You're the ones who actively throw around slurs should anyone make a single post about an oc that isn't a Nord. You're racist.

Meanwhile the Empire actually seems to care, to an extent. They're in a difficult position and when playing that route, it is obvious that they don't like having to work the Dominion. They're hands were tied, so to speak, and they didn't want another war that would have very likely resulted in a genocide.

You like to skip over that.

Neither option is good. The stormcloaks are a bunch of racist idiots who don't know how to read and the Empire is basically a bunch of those democrats who think listing their pronouns will make a difference against climate change. You know like the ones that say "What are my pronouns? Oh well I'm a girl so you know." Or the "Do I support the government? Well, I do think that people on welfare just aren't trying hard enough because we can all see that we need to work hard to have a decent living."

The folks who seem to love the Empire are either well endowed with all the knowledge of the Empire or someone who chooses to ignore or accept the horrific nature of outlawing someone's religion for the sake of their own. We're only given the options for a select number of Deity and not one of Them is Y'ffre. They're a pretty big part of the lore. While the stormcloaks don't even hide how horrible they are, the Imperials feign being good and moral citizens of an Empire that they don't want to acknowledge is broken.

I prefer the Empire but that doesn't change how I hate both of them. If I could I would have sided with the Reachfolk but that was a dead end. I also would have liked to explore more about the Dominion or be given the option to not kill Paarthurnax. (I didn't, I just didn't continue the quest because there is no way I'd ever do that.)

This is Aelynne. I kind of wanted her to give off the vibe of that really sweet stray cat who you really wonder how it stayed alive this long. She is the character. I’m hoping to use for some writing inspired by her play through. I will try to get the first section of it out somewhere either here or somewhere else. I haven’t decided yet, but I have some ideas on how I can make even the most random occurrences interesting.Anyway, she has just wandered in out of cold and realized she can’t easily go back without getting hypothermia.
