PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Maricopa County officials provided an update on a temporary worker who was arrested this week for allegedly stealing items from the county’s election facility.
Sheriff Russ Skinner and County Supervisor Bill Gates hosted a news conference at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Check back for updates on what was said.
The briefing centered around 27-year-old Walter Ringfield, who is accused of stealing a security fob and keys from the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC) last Thursday. When staff noticed the items were missing Friday morning, they reviewed security video which allegedly shows Ringfield taking them.
Staff confronted him about the theft and contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrested him at his north Phoenix home on Friday and recovered the stolen items during a search warrant.
Walter Ringfield stole a security access key fob to a vote tabulation warehouse.

Came home, saw the mess in the kitchen, and noped.
I will not make dinner if the stepson is going to come home and make a mess and not clean up. He wants to eat high quality food? He has to do his dishes. I ate this afternoon. I have no problem just going to sleep right now. Which I think I will do after a quick shower. Especially since tomorrow will be a ridiculously long day.
Language access for elections
Every county's registrar/commission will have completely different language access, but I know there's at least one person out there wondering about my county If you know what languages your county will be providing assistance & material in, please reblog! California's Alameda County provides voting material and assistance in English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Tagalog, Korean, Khmer, and Vietnamese The standard ballot used is English/Spanish, and I believe the Eng/Chinese ballots are going to be sent out to precincts in June as well (they may change or add languages) The Registrar of Voters is working to have a bilingual election worker at every poll, with the language depending on the precinct. If there isn't a worker there who can help, an interpreter can quickly be reached Facsimile ballots (copies to borrow while you fill out your own ballot) in each language listed above are available at every polling place. If needed, an election worker can assist you in filling it out Also, 'I voted' stickers are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Tagalog!
