Adorable Student Used Google Translate To Make A Classmate From Mexico Feel Welcome
When 10-year-old Amanda Moore noticed a new boy at school sitting alone at lunch, she tried to introduce herself. However, he spoke very little English and could not understand her kind words.
Rafael Anaya had recently moved to California from Mexico. He was still in the process of learning English and only knew a few common phrases. It must have been terrifying to be in a new elementary school full of people he didn’t understand, but Amanda wasn’t going to let a little language barrier stand in her way. That evening, she used Google Translate to write a letter to Rafael in Spanish.
The translation wasn’t perfect, but Rafael understood it. The letter reads: “Would you like to sit with me today? Look for me and I will show you where I sit. We can color or simply tell scary stories. Thank you for your time. Signed: Amanda”

When she asked her mom if it was okay to deliver the letter, Kimber was so full of pride that she taught her daughter how to fold it “old-school style.”

Ellen Gave This School In Detroit A Surprise That Will Change People's Lives
Like many places in Detroit, Spain Elementary School is broken down and neglected. The school’s roof is falling apart, the gym isn’t functional because of an unsafe floor, and the institution — which is full of talented performers — doesn’t have enough money in its budget to hire even one music teacher.
Ellen DeGeneres was disheartened when she heard about this, so with the help of Lowe’s — and one surprise guest — she decided to give the school one heck of an assembly. Isn’t that De-GENEROUS?
That seems like a ton of money, but given the recent investigation into the potential black mold that is making students and faculty sick, Spain is going to need a lot more than that to give these kids the safe, productive learning environment they deserve.

Story by Eric Ownes LGBTQ activists in Tallahassee, Florida are really mad because the taxpayer-funded local school district reassigned a fifth-grade teacher after she told the little kids in her classroom to address her with the title “Mx.” and refer to her using the third-person plural pronouns “they,” “them” and “their.” The teacher, Chloe Bressack, pulled her transgender pronoun stunt at...
