THAT OFF-SCREEN CUTENESS STAHP
Elementary, first thoughts
Curiosity kills the cat, as they say.
I finally got round to watching the first episode of Elementary, the American adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, with Jonny Lee Miller as the crack head detective and O-Ren Ishii as Watson.
My thoughts
I gave it a fair chance, I really did, but the script is poorly written. The pacing is all over the shop, with no build up or introduction to our characters, they just move through the episode at such a speed, they may as well say: "Come on, we've got to get to the next scene, because the script says so."
Also, did I mention?
My thoughts are only based on my viewing of the pilot episode, but come on the BBC version had me hooked within 10 minutes. Now, I know it's wrong to compare, and I did genuinly judge this show on it's own merits, but the fact of the matter is.....it's boring!
Lee Miller twitches his way through the pilot, and O-Ren Ishii plods along leaving zilch impact at all......She doesn't even get a sword out or anything.
The End

Why I Hated Elementary School
When I was in Elementary school, I used to get bullied a lot. Even without me knowing it. I was a kid, I didn't care about the way I looked, talked, dressed, walked, etc. All I cared about was just being a kid. Well from grades Preschool to 3rd, I moved to a different school each year. That all changed when I was in grade 4. We moved into this town, which I still live in today. I was so excited going to this new school down the street from me, to meet all the "nice" kids who I thought were going to be my new "friends". Well let me say that, I was blinded by the thought of having so many friends. So blinded that I didn't see what was coming for me. After a year or so, I started to come out more with myself. These "friends" of mine started to think I was too wired for them. They drifted. I made some new friends the next year. I was bullied for the rest of the years I was there. The kids called me names, talked behind my back, just like any normal bully would. 6th grade. That was the year when it finally all came to me. I finally saw what reality was like because sooner or later, I had to stop dreaming in the clouds and come back down to earth. I started to become insure, wanted to be like the pretty girls in my class. I TRIED to fit in with them. Got laughed at for that. The last few months of 6th grade came and we had to choose which middle school we wanted to go to. Everyone choose the same one so they can see each other again year. I choose a school where no one else from my elementary school went to. From there I started over, but I was more careful with the people I chose to hang around. To this day, I left behind my past and started with a new future.
I'm having Sherlock and Joan feels and I'm not even in the Elementary fandom!
