When she said she loved you, you thought that meant she would put you first in front of anything that came her way. When she said she loved you, you thought that meant she would support you in everything you did while accepting your support and encouragement. When she said she loved you, you thought that meant you two against the world. When she said she loved you, you had no reason to doubt her love. When she said she loved you, you said it back.
So, if she loved you, then why did she leave you?
All I want is nothing more
To hear you knocking at my door
'Cause if I could see your face once more
I could die a happy man I'm sure
In the days following her departure, you had wished that it wasn’t real, that she was playing some sick prank on you. Days and nights passed where you found yourself staring at your front door just in case she decided to come back. Maybe she needed space and didn't want to tell you in fear of you thinking it might be on you why she left.
Days turned to weeks before you realized she was gone for good. Her scent that lingered in the house was now faded. Any trace of her was gone. The only thing that proved that she had lived here was in your memory. Every smile, laugh, thought, and secret shared with you now locked away behind a door which you refused to open.
She had given no warning before she left, and as much as you called her, she wouldn’t answer the phone. Maybe it was you, maybe it was something you did to drive her away. Sometimes people fall out of love, and maybe that’s what happened to her.
When you said your last goodbye
I died a little bit inside
I lay in tears in bed all night
Alone without you by my side
The last time she said goodbye, she had been going to go get groceries for the two of you. At the time, you didn't know it was the last time you’d see her, but you were out when she came home and dropped the food off. That was the last time you ever saw her, and you couldn't seem to find her since. It was like she didn't want to be found which confused you the most. Your love for her was strong, and you thought she shared the same intensity.
The nights following her disappearance, you spent every night crying in bed since you couldn’t sleep. The feel of her body next to you and the scent of her was what was able to keep you asleep, but that was gone, and so was your will to sleep.
It was hard to face the facts, but you were completely and utterly alone.
So you brought out the best of me,
A part of me I've never seen.
You took my soul and wiped it clean.
Our love was made for movie scenes
The love you two shared was like no other. It was every bit unique, and other couples craved what you and Elena had. Before even meeting her, you didn't like the person you were. You weren't very friendly, you didn't have any roommates, your family didn't talk to you as much, and you weren't happy all the time. When you met her, everything changed. She taught you to be a better person and sculpted you into one. Every quality you hated about yourself went away, and you began to love who you were. She’s shown you part of yourself that you’ve never seen much less knew was there.
She was able to take the dirty parts of your soul and wipe it clean. Her smile alone could put you in a better mood than most people could. Your love was the kind you went to go see in movies. Your love was truly something special.
So then why did she leave?
But if you loved me
Why'd you leave me?
Take my body
Take my body
All I want is,
And all I need is
To find somebody.
I'll find somebody like you
Oh oh
like you
Oh oh
“You went to see her again?” Stefan asked once Elena walked back into the Salvatore Boarding House.
“She hasn’t stopped crying since I left. Maybe I should go and give a reason. At least it will give her closure,” she sighed.
“You know you can’t do that. It’s too dangerous for her now. Being a vampire changed that.”
“I never stopped loving her,” Elena whispered as tears shimmered in her eyes.
“I know,” he said as he brought her in for a hug. He knew more than anyone how much Elena loved you. She did what she thought was right. She couldn’t bring you into the world of vampires, witches, and werewolves. The light of your soul was too bright to be dimmed by the darkness surrounding her.

“Are you sure this a good idea?” she asked as she reluctantly took the crossbow from you.
“Look, I’m not always going to be here in case you need me. I need to know that you’re going to be okay if I’m not around. The last thing I need is to leave and come back to find you dead or worse--like me,” you sighed as you explained this to her for the twentieth time.
“Yeah, I understand,” she nodded. If there was anyone who hated being a vampire or the thought of becoming one, it was Elena. She loved you for who you were, and if being a vampire is who you were, she was going to love that about you, but she hated the idea of vampires. She couldn’t see herself feeding on animals much less humans, hurting them to the point of killing them, and everything else that came with being a vampire.
Elena was the sweetest, thoughtful, selfless woman you have ever met. She would make a terrible vampire, which is why you were having her do this training exercise. If she could learn how to use a crossbow on a fast-moving target, then you could leave knowing she was going to be okay. Apart from Mystic Falls, you were also stationed in Washington D.C. for your work. When you were in Mystic Falls, you gave Elena all of your attention since you didn’t get to see her every day. There were times she would come visit you in D.C., but Mystic Falls is always going to be her home--she wasn’t leaving it.
“I am going to be your prey. Pretend I’m not me but a vampire you don’t know who is after you. Pretend I am someone that wants to hurt you. Not all vampires you meet are going to be like me, Caroline, Damon, and Stefan. There are some bad ones like Klaus or Kol that will want to hurt you because you’re human. Use this to defend yourself. You’ll know if you hit me when I catch the arrow. Don’t worry about actually hitting me. I won’t be in the trees for this round, so don’t bother looking up there. Your challenge is to try and hit me 10 times.”
“I can do that,” she nodded.
“Good. Focus on where you want the arrow to go. Try and anticipate my moves. I’m going to move fast so I might be gone when you shoot the arrow. Shoot where I’m not in order to get me, understand?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Good, your time starts now,” you said before using your vampire speed and rushing off into the forest surrounding the two of you. Elena lifted the crossbow as she began walking in search of you. She knew you were out there, and she knew you would never hurt her, but she was afraid for some reason. She was the one who was supposed to be hunting you, but she couldn’t help but feel like she was the one being hunted. Elena kept a sharp eye for you, and shot at you when she knew she could. She was definitely getting better at this because when you two first started training, she could barely hit the tree much less you, but it was a whole different story now.
She was able to hit you five times, but she had five more shots to go. You tried to make this simulation as real as it could get in real life without actually hurting you, which meant you taunted her, laughed, and made her feel like she couldn’t hurt you. Elena was definitely getting better at this, which earned her your praise. She has come a long way since the beginning, and you were so proud of her for doing so.
“You’ll never get me,” you teased as you ran right by her. She jumped back and aimed her crossbow before spotting you. She anticipated your moves a little bit too well because when she pulled the trigger, the arrow went flying through the air and landing right in your back at a spot you couldn’t reach.
“Fuck!” you yelled as you stopped running. Reaching behind you, you tried pulling the arrow out, but it was no use. Either you broke your arm to try and get it out yourself, or you had Elena take it out for you. “Elena! I need your help!”
“What happened?” she asked as she ran through the forest to find you. Resting your hand against one of the trees, you tried to refrain yourself from moving too much as it caused the arrow to shift. As soon as Elena found you, she dropped the crossbow with a gasp.
“I am so sorry!” she apologized profusely.
“Elena, take it out,” you groaned as it grazed your heart. Thank God these arrows weren't made of wood otherwise, you would be dead.
“What, I can’t do it,” she panicked.
“Elena, I can’t do it myself. Please, take it out because it hurts like a bitch,” you sighed. Your girlfriend inched closer to you before grasping the base of the arrow. She hesitated a few times, but you were growing impatient, which caused you to snap.
“Elena! Take the damn arrow out!” you hissed. She closed her eyes before yanking on it, effectively removing it from your body. Gasping very loudly, you jumped up and down a few times to diminish the pain spreading throughout your body. Elena dropped the arrow in shame before looking down. She seemed so guilty for hurting the woman she loved, and you walked over to her before lifting her chin with your fingers.
“It was an accident, babe.”
“I’m sorry,” she sighed sadly.
“I’m not. Out of all the times we’ve done this, you’ve never been able to hit me. If that arrow was wooden, I would have died. If I wasn’t me, you would have killed the vampire after you. I say this is progress.”
“You’re really not mad at me?”
“No, the pain is gone, and I already forgot about it. I am proud of you for hitting me,” you said before leaning down and kissing her. “You managed to do it in less than 10 hits. Good job.”
“Thank you but let me at least buy you dinner.”
“I like the sound of that,” you grinned as you picked up the bloody arrow and the crossbow.

It wasn’t enough that you haven’t found love or a job you like. It wasn’t enough that everyone in your life seemed to drift from you. Out of all this madness, one person has stuck by you when you needed them. Elena Gilbert was your best friend, and she earned that title when you met her on the first day of high school.
You two hit it off, talking like you had been best friends for a while. From the start, you could tell she would be the one to stick by you in anything. She helped you when you needed advice on dating and crushes, and when you needed to escape your family because the drama would be so intense that you could feel yourself get physically sick from it. In turn, you helped her deal with her vampire issues and overprotective friends, the Salvatores. They wouldn’t let her make a decision for herself, and she loved that you let her do that. There is nothing that you two hadn’t been through together. Without her, you didn’t know where you would have ended up.
She knew of your problems with your family, your so-called friends, the problems you had at the job you hated, and even with your bad luck with love. She’s stayed up with you on countless nights, talking with you and trying to make you laugh even though you had been crying seconds before. Her friendship is something you cherished, and you didn’t know what you did in your life to ever deserve it.
There’ll be days your heart don’t wanna beat
You pray more than you breathe
And you just wanna fall to pieces
And nights, those 2 AM calls
Where dreams become walls
And you just need a break
Break on me
Elena was sound asleep when she heard someone knocking on her door. She was a light sleeper thanks to her vampire side, which is why she woke up at the first knock. The time was 2 AM, so no one should be at her door anyway. The fact that someone is put her on alert, and she rushed over to the door before opening it. When she opened it, she was on full alert.
“Y/N, is everything okay?” she asked with wide eyes. Standing there in only your pajamas and fuzzy slippers, clutching a pillow to your chest, you sighed sadly before looking at her in the eyes.
“No,” you sniffled. Your eyes were red from crying on your say over here, and your voice cracked when you spoke.
“Did you walk to my house in the middle of the night?” she asked surprisingly.
“Yeah, I guess,” you muttered. Her house was exactly six blocks from yours. Elena let out a sigh in relief when she saw no injuries on your body, but she knew you had some on your mind. She led you into her house, and while she got some hot chocolate ready, you took a seat on the couch. Elena hated seeing you this way because she developed a crush on you over the years. Being the only person who knew you the best, she could confidently say she was in love with you. She knew you didn’t feel the same since you always asked for advice on dates, which is why she never pursued anything.
That night, she became your rock as you let out how your sister betrayed you once again. She was always there for you, letting you break in front of her because you knew she would always be there to pick up the pieces and try to put you back together again.
Shatter like glass
Come apart in my hands
Take as long as it takes, girl
Break on me
Put your head on my chest
Let me help you forget
When your heart needs to break
Just break on me
Last time, it was your sister, but this time it was your boss who hated you. You were over at Elena’s again since you decided to take off work in the middle of the day. She had the day off from her busy life, which you appreciated. Your job was hard, and you wanted to quit, but you needed the money so fucking bad. You’ve been there the longest, and you hoped a promotion was coming your way to reward you and all of your hard work.
Your boss constantly berates you, and all you could do is just tolerate it because if you stood up for yourself, he would fire your ass in an instant. Elena was there for you, letting you cuddle into her side as you cried into her chest. Her heart broke at the sight, but she kept her mouth shut since she knew you just needed a friend instead of advice.
There’ll be times when someone you know
Becomes someone you knew
But you’d do anything to change it
And words you wanna take back
But you know you can’t
When the page just won’t turn
And it still hurts
Break on me
“I thought she was my friend. God! I can’t even get this right!” you yelled at Elena even though she did nothing wrong.
“She didn’t deserve you” is something Elena would have told you, but she was fed up with how you were being treated. “No, you know what? We’re not doing this tonight. No more crying.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know what we’re going to do tonight? You’re going to a sleepover, we’re going to get into comfy pajamas, we’re going to turn on Netflix, and we’re going to watch some comedy movies because it is too damn depressing in here,” she declared as she got up from the couch. Giggling, you watched her move around the living room as she got it ready for your supposed sleepover.
“There, right there,” she said, pointing at your face.
“What?” you asked with a small smile.
“Your smile. Keep it there. You look gorgeous with it on,” she winked before going into her bedroom for two sets of pajamas. You’ve been over so often that some of your things and clothes were already in her care. Did she really just wink at you?
You’ve been blaming the world for all your problems, always finding something new to complain about when you didn’t need to. You had a home, an income coming in and a beautiful best friend who’s been there for you longer than you could remember. Why would you go on dates when you had the woman you loved right beside you? It may have taken you this long to realize it, but you were in love with her. Maybe she didn’t feel the same, but even if she did, you couldn’t tell her. She was the one person you couldn’t lose.
Elena came back with two sets of pajamas and handed you yours. Grabbing them with a smile, you headed to the bathroom to change. When you came back, Netflix was on, the wine was on the table, and popcorn was in bowls on the couch. Taking a seat next to her, she pulled you into her body as she laid down so that you were on top of her. She was a tiny person, but she radiated heat despite being a vampire. She was so comfortable that you could fall asleep on her anytime.
“Thank you, Elena, for everything,” you whispered as the movie played.
“You’re my best friend. I’d do anything for you.”
“I know. I love you,” you confessed. She smiled as she raked her hands through your hair. She didn’t respond with words, instead, pulled you tighter against her body. Maybe one day, she would confess her feelings to you because you were an amazing woman who deserved the world.
Oh, when you need somebody
When you need somebody right now
You’re where I’ll be
Break on me

“If you’re such an expert on stars, which is that one?” Elena asked, pointing to a random constellation in the sky. Every week, you and Elena picked a stick from the date jar, and she picked stargazing. It’s been a while since the two of you had a night out, so it was nice to lay on the grass in the park.
You and Elena have been married for a little over a year since she turned you into a vampire to save your life. People were shooting at her, and you jumped into the line of fire where you got hit multiple times. Her blood wasn’t going to save you in time, so she was the one who killed you. Ever since you two said “I do”, you have never been happier. Luck would have it that you two would have to go outside for this date since you’ve been wanting to go out for some time now. The last date was a movie night, and you swear you hadn’t left the bed in 15 hours.
You wanted to do something out of the public and stargazing was perfect since you’d be in the mountains, away from everyone else. It was peaceful up in the mountains. The whole park was yours for the taking since it was a weekday, and people had to work in the morning. It was nice to be out here with your wife, lie on the grass and stare at the stars that were billions of lightyears away.
“That’s the constellation Cassiopeia,” you answered, knowing it by the W shape it had. Plus, it was right in the middle of the Milky Way Galaxy.
“See, that’s not fair, I can’t correct you if you’re wrong,” she laughed, turning her head to look at you. Your heads were right next to each other but you were laying opposite of one another. If she looked to her right, you had to look to your left to see her.
“Don’t worry, I’m right. Want to know a little story of Cassiopeia?” you grinned before looking back at the sky.
“What’s that?”
“Cassiopeia is the Queen of the sky when she’s out. She’s also the mother of Andromeda which is right below her. To Cassiopeia’s left, is the constellation Perseus. Perseus was in love with Andromeda but her mother wouldn’t allow it. That’s why she’s in the middle, separating them forever,” you explained.
“How do you know this?”
“I took two courses in astronomy in college. Remember, it was when you and Caroline got kicked out of Dr. Wes’ class for being freshmen? Well, I took those courses online. It just stuck with me all these years later,” you smiled and looked at the twinkling balls of gas and light.
“What do you think’s out there?” she asked, moving her hand up to stroke your hair.
“Your guess is as good as mine. I don’t think we’ll ever know. Space is just a mystery that will stay a mystery.”
“Well, I think there are aliens out there.”
“Of course, there is. We’re one planet among thousands in a galaxy among billions. There has to be life out there. I don’t know what’s scarier, the thought of life being out there or the thought of us being all alone.”
“Certainly, a possibility,” Elena said, before looking at you. “What’s your theory?”
“Why are you asking me as if I have all the answers?” you giggled.
“You’re better educated about all this stuff more than I am. You seem to know what’s going to happen to Earth in a few billion years.”
“Of course. The sun will eventually run out of helium to burn, resulting it to get bigger and hotter. It will turn into a red giant and swallow earth whole, ending life as we know it. If we don’t travel to a new planet before that happens, it’s the end of mankind.”
“Exactly my point. What’s your theory about what’s out there?”
“Okay, you’re going to think this is weird,” you laughed.
“Probably,” she giggled.
“Well, I think there are multiple universes and multiple Earths. In each world, is us, acting out every single decision I could have possibly made. So, in some worlds, I might be a murderer or something like that based on the choices I didn’t make in this one.”
“You’re right, that is weird,” she giggled. Scoffing, you rolled onto your stomach, using your forearms to hold you up as you hovered over her face.
“Right, because what you can come up with would be so much better,” you said sarcastically, a piece of your hair falling on her face. She reached up and moved it out of the way before meeting you halfway. Leaning down, you kissed her softly on the lips, Spider-Man style. It felt so nice to be out here with her without the stress that comes with living in Mystic Falls. Pulling away from her, you shuffled to her side before lying next to her. Putting your head on her chest, she rubbed your back lightly as the two of you stared at the sky.
“We should do things like this more often,” Elena said, carding her fingers through your hair.
“I second that,” you muttered before closing your eyes.

FINALLY! I HAVE RELEASED IT! I’m sorry for making you all wait soooo long! Long story short, I’ve had so much work to do and so much to study for but I’ve used all my free time towards this new DE fic: Don’t Let Me Go.
I just posted the prologue and the next chap will be on its way soon! Please give it a go! I know it’s been annoying to wait but I promise it’ll be all worth it. And please review! It doesn’t take long and I really appreciate it! Also, a very big thank you to @iwantyoudamon for supporting this fic and the last one soooo much! You don’t know how much I appreciate it :)
This fic is AH/AU, unlike my other one Silver Linings which was V/AU
Read that one HERE.
It's been highly requested that my next fic would be. I asked you all to give me ideas on what you'd want and the winning one was this one. It was actually a high school love story, but I'm doing it a bit differently (I might try out one of the other ideas after this one if you are still willing to read). This fic will be very different to my last one, but I'm excited!
I don't know how often I will be posting, since I haven't written this one in advance. Hopefully I can catch up and bring you one every week :) Maybe eventually I'll set a day like last time. Maybe not Tuesday though. It’s difficult to post during the week
Here is the Summary: 5 years ago a horrific event caused Elena Gilbert to flea home right before graduation, leaving everything behind, including her best friend and boyfriend Damon Salvatore. When she attends her high school reunion, she hopes to keep Damon where he's been for years now; out of her life. But when a secret she kept from him all those years ago arises, she's forced to keep him around.
Read the new fic: Don’t Let Me Go: HERE
Rated M for smut and language
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or scenes from The Vampire Diaries, though I may use them.
Thank you all for your support! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to DM me or ask me :)
So these are the top ideas for the new fic. Vote by either reblogging, commenting on the post, asking me or DMing me with the number of your choice. If you don't get your vote in soon, you might not get the one you want so be quick :) They are all really brief and really shit-ly written, because I don't want to give away any of the plot lines. They are all pretty much shit descriptions. Soz I'm in a rush haha. 1) Damon and Elena are childhood friends and are besties in high school. Classic best friend fic. After they get together, a misunderstanding causes them to split ways and not talk for years. When they reconnect, it's hard for one to trust the other. Blah blah blah happy ending as usual :) 2) Damon and Elena work together on a tv show set (pretty much like nian used to on tvd). They get pretty close but they can't hide their relationship for long. Again, blah blah blah happy ending :) 3) Damon and Elena meet at a party, after Elena gets super drunk Damon offers her a ride home, they end up touring mystic falls at night and become friends. They keep seeing eachother and eventually it becomes more. Blah blah blah happy ending :)) Vote quick! I personally like 1) best because I'm a sucker for clichés and I've always wanted to write them as best friends first. But I want to write what you guys want! Do vote please!! Thank you all xxx
Here’s the Epilogue to Silver Linings! Sorry It’s late! I had legit no internet! And I’m sad I haven’t watched 8x09 yet!!! I’ll watch it when I get a strong connection :(
