FELIN - Black Heart
Eschewing the power-pop of their early works, FELIN, the Swedish duo of Fredrik Etoall and Elin Blom get down and dirty with their bluesy rock ‘n roll on with “Black Heart”.Taking place on the streets of Cuba, FELIN’s latest video introspection is a bit of a spontaneous affair, where its protagonists and antagonists are taken in by the spur of the moment. Crass with a little bit of sass, the soundtrack to “Black Heart’ is met with the sultry glaze of vocalist Elin Blom’s vocals and contrasted to the grungy grit of its surfy guitar riffs. Speaking the candid nature of the track and what their upcoming album will entail, FELIN had this to say:
"When we wrote the upcoming album, I wanted to build it as if it were a movie, filled with dark humour, sex, revenge, love and death. The whole album is inspired by a darkness, a passionate and destructive relationship with life and the constant reminder that everything is just on loan for a brief moment. There is something so damn beautiful about that. In ‘Black Heart’, I imagined what goes on in a serial killer’s head when he or she is on the hunt for the next victim. It’s a dark love story about being so obsessed that you can no longer think clearly, nor do you care about the consequences of your actions. The people of the streets of Cuba are the stars and inspiration of this colorful video.”
