Thank you so much for @rosegoldorigins for organising this project, I had a blast creating my piece and I think it turned out really cool, especially in tandem with everyone else's artworks!!

okay so. pretty much. desert duo are both eldritch beings but ONLY when they're angry/sad/any heightened emotion! why? cus nova likes this stuff i guess. its cool :D
pretty much when desert duo went and fought to the death in the cactus ring, they didnt die. they spent so long trying to die, to get out of there, but they couldnt die.
eventually, they gave up--parted ways and lived separate, trying to deal with their eldritch forms and keep themselves in check as emotions kept getting mroe and more intense from the enclosure of 3rd life :D
they managed to avoid each other for months, until one day, scar spots a strange stone in the ground when he's trying to dig up some dirt. it's got weird symbols on it, and it looks suspiciously like the language of the eldritch--the one he's never been able to read, but maybe grian can?
he takes it to grian to inspect! see if he can figure out this strange little rock, that might have some clues on how to get home :O
this starts the fic! grian and scar starting to talk again, working together to die and get home, while also managing their eldritch forms :> yippee!

but Cleo and Pearl post-vampires canon. its 2006 and everyone loves capitalism, so the lovely capitalist corporations spot a patch of land where there's nothing but an old town, rumoured to be haunted by the spirits of vampires and werewolves...
it's perfect for a giant hotel/resort complex, according to them! so they trundle up to Oakhurst, ready to demolish everything and rebuild it into a nice lovely holiday spot!
Cleo and pearl aren't fans of this, though, so they try fight back against the corporation trying to demolish the buildings using various stupid techniques.
In the process, they get to accidentally raise Avid from the dead, destroy the castle and rebuild it, kill far too many corporate white men, and give shelby *another* gun. wahoo!!!
