I find it infinitely funny that Elrond took the 'we name all our children el- something' idea that Beren and Luthien came up with, ran with it for the twins Elladan and Elrohir and completely ignored second half of the idea ' as homage to our ancestor Elu Thingol'
using el meaning elf instead of el meaning Star feels like a compromise from a dude raised by feanorions trying not to piss off any parents.
A continuation of my Elurín-depression post! I present to you a (AU?) scenario where Dior lives and is searching for his children (and other survivors of Doriath).
Let’s say Celegorm messed up on the fatal blow. Dior manages to get out of Menegroth before the place goes up in flames (in my headcanons), and hides in the forest until he's healed enough to move around. I imagine he’d be torn between two quests: search for any survivors and get revenge on the Fëanorians. At this point, I doubt he’d have any hope for survivors, given the state of Doriath after the Kinslaying. But he knows that Amon Ereb is the Fëanorian fortress, so ...
Then he hears, from word of mouth, that there are silver-haired children living at Amon Ereb. Whelp, the choice is clear! Dior goes off to Amon Ereb to confirm the rumours and kick some mass-murdering ass while he’s at it.
And that brings us to the setting of this piece! I initially had an image in my head of Amras hunting on his own (well, with a group, but let’s say he wandered off a bit), and he somehow finds himself in a fight with Dior. Dior probably didn’t know that it was Amras at first; maybe they both thought that the other was an Orc or something.
Dior is rusty at fighting, and even though he puts up a good effort, Amras lands a blow. Dior stumbles back, and in whatever light is present, Amras sees that his opponent is Doriath’s king. I imagine some argument follows this encounter; Dior demands to see his sons, stuff happens, and off they go.
And so Dior reunites with Eluréd and Elurín. I feel that Maedros would be hesitant to let the twins go to him (like, what if it’s a trap? A trick from the Enemy?), but Elurín insists that it’s Dior because fëar connections/shenanigans.
Now, I had a whole bunch of ideas for this story where Dior is thrown into the Silver Star mix. But the main thing is that, given my previous post on Elurín’s internal conflict and depression, Dior realizes that his sons need help and takes a major part in the process of their healing/closure. He's able to set aside his business with the Fëanorians in order to focus on his sons’ wellbeing first.
And ... that’s all I have so far. Thanks for reading this far, if you did! <333 Maaaybe I’ll try writing a fic for this since I have ideas XDD

If you headcanon ‘bad’ characters as ace you’re also doing it wrong because you’re equating being ace with a lack of compassion/empathy remember. There’s no way to win tbh
Right omg??? I guess ace people or people interested in ace representation are too influenced by their own internalized moralisms to make proper, legitimate ace headcanons! I think I’ll just let the characters “be human beings with sexual desires and what not” lol :))))))) murdersmile
