RUFOUS...well....Rufous ISN’T a Goldendoodle like we originally thought. Turns out this giant chicken nugget is actually a Setterdoodle????! He’s a mix of Poodle, Irish Setter, AND English Setter! We’re all are in shock from this one, hahaha. Obviously we still love him very very much and think he’s the best boy. We were NOT expecting this surprise!
Rufous’s COI is a mere 1%. He also has a perfect health panel - tested clear for everything and isn’t a carrier for a single thing.

tldr when describing her I just say pig dog or bull arab mix which is good in casual local conversations. Very popular unofficial type of dog down here.
if we really want to get into it, she’s had an embark dna done which didn’t throw out many surprises except in sheer numbers

Embark dog DNA test - Juniper wants to share her results with you!
I got Juniper’s Embark results in!
No real surprises. She is a carrier for CEA but clear for everything else! Her COI is 9%, which is slightly lower than I expected! (her full sister’s COI is 12%)
Interestingly, Juniper carries one copy of the gene for rear dew claws like Maple, but unlike Maple, Juni does not actually have them. Two of her littermates were born with them though.
Embark also predicted Juniper’s adult weight at 49 pounds. Pretty far from my own estimate of 37-38lbs adult weight (based on puppychart.com predictions; she is currently about 36.5lbs at 10 months old.) Embark’s estimate for Maple was also about 5-10lbs higher than her actual mature weight (Embark estimate 51lbs, Maple actually weighs between 40-45lbs.)
Another thing I was very interested to see was how genetically related Juniper is to Maple, since they are “first cousins once removed” by pedigree. The result is right about where I guessed, at 12% shared DNA with Maple:
