Marines Ready to Reinforce Embassy Security after Trump’s Jerusalem Announcement

And Chump’s budget cuts it even more
Posted: 2:22 am ET On January 3, Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) announced that he, along with Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL), have introduced the Jerusalem Embassy and Recogni…
This is not hyperbolic rhetoric. According to the bill itself:
“Not more than 50 percent of the amounts appropriated to the Department of State for fiscal year 2017 under the heading ‘Embassy Security, Construction, and Maintenance’ may be obligated until the Secretary of State determines and reports to Congress that the United States Embassy in Jerusalem has officially opened.”
It gets worse: In 2018 and 2019, all of the the amounts appropriated under “Embassy Security, Construction, and Maintenance” may be spent “only for construction and other costs associated with the establishment of the United States Embassy in Jerusalem.” So funding for security at every single U.S. embassy in the entire world will be reduced to $0.
Naturally, the five Republican Senators sponsoring this bill were among those screaming loudest about the level of security at the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, supporting multiple expensive investigations and doing their best to blame the Obama administration and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Now here’s the interesting bit: This law isn’t entirely new.
