1: sexuality headcanonPansexual! I’ve always felt that Emerald values people exclusively by character, not by appearance or anything like that. And he’s been a non-conformist his entire life. People constantly tell him the way he lives is wrong, and it’s happened too much for him to really care anymore. Basically, I don’t think he’d even take gender into account when it comes to romantic feelings. He’s actually a deeply romantic person (though he doesn’t usually present himself as such) and I’m pretty sure he has the capacity to fall in love with anyone who treats him with love and respect, takes an interest in his interests, and goes out of their way to take care of him. That could be a boy, a girl, anyone, any way it happens he’d be just as happy about it.
2: otpI’ve currently got two otps for Emerald, which of course directly contradicts the phrase “one true pairing” but ehh, color outside the lines. Anyway, they’re Hammerspace (Emerald/Yellow) and Tenth (Emerald/Wally)! Both for the reasons up there ^Emerald probably falls in love with compassion, if that makes sense? He was without anyone close to him for such a long time, he’s probably over0the0moon when someone worries about him or even asks him how he’s doing. And Yellow and Wally are two of the most compassionate characters in the series. He’d definitely be the one to realize he likes them first, just by analyzing everyone he meets like he always does. And then it’d go from there. My Emerald rp on Twitter has been with @tabbychu‘s Yellow of and on (off being mostly because Emerald needed to figure out his own problems) for… years now, and I’m working on a Tenth fic, so suffice to say I’m in deep with both sides.
3: brotpRuby, Sapphire, and Gold are all my fav friendship relationships for Em! Em and Ruby get in fights a lot, but it’s clear they care about each other a lot. Same with Sapphire, they’re more hotheaded rivals than anything but they’ll fight whoever says anything bad about the other. Gold and Em just have tons of hilarious antics. He reminds Em that it’s okay to be immature… occasionally.
4: notpFrontier (Emerald/Crystal). Sorry, I just see Crystal as way too much of a mother figure for Em for this to happen! They’re not really level with one another, you know?
5: first headcanon that pops into my headI have so many… Okay here’s one. Em gets these recurring dreams where he’s just traveling by himself again, like he had been doing, as if the Emerald arc never happened. They’re not scary to be in or anything, it’s just him wandering alone. The scary part is when he wakes up and realizes that it was a dream, he also realizes that he was so… complacent in that dream. He didn’t have any desire in the dream to get out of the situation he was in in real life. And the feeling that he could be trapped like that again is really scary. Em… doesn’t sleep much.6: favorite line from this characterI don’t remember the exact quote, but the one where he admitted that he was lying to everyone and really loves Pokémon.
