Unpopular opinion:

Janus is a complete softie when he’s with his boyfriend and he’s extremely blushy and giggly if he’s really in love.

I just got the mental image of Emile and Janus being the most unlikely of friends.

Emile being his normal bubbly self, Janus being his sassy self Both being more attentive than for their own good.

Emile being pretty clear with his way of helping.

Janus being more secretive and manipulative with his way of helping.

Janus rambling about musicals, Emile rambling about cartoons, both rambling about cartoon musicals (like sponge bob).

"Hey, honey, does your hat look good on me?" Emile called out through the bedroom door as he admired his reflection in the mirror.

"Yes," Janus called back from the other room.

Emile opened his mouth. He almost responded back with a 'thank you', but then he realised that Janus could not possibly have known that, as he was still in the other room. He bit his lip to keep himself from laughing.

"Honey, you haven't seen me yet. You're still in the other room!"

He waited a few moments, and then his wonderful boyfriend, Janus, appeared in the open doorway. He gave Emile a charming smile, one that always made Emile melt and want to kiss him.

Emile immediately smiled back, before Janus even said a word.

"Darling, you look good in everything. I don't need to look at you to know that," he said, before he looked Emile up and down. "But I do enjoy looking at you. And you look as divine as usual in my hat."

"Thank you," Emile smiled. He turned back to his reflection in the mirror. "I put this on as a joke at first, but I actually like the way it looks. It makes me feel... suave."

"It is a nice hat," Janus said, coming up behind Emile, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his chin on Emile's shoulder. "It's my favourite."

"Do you want it back?"

"You can keep wearing it. It looks better on you, anyway."

"That's impossible," Emile answered immediately. "You're so handsome! You look good in everything, all the time."

"Perhaps," Janus agreed. "But never as handsome as you, my dearest."

"Nope! You're the handsomest man in the whole entire world. And that includes all the handsome cartoon men."

Janus let out a gasp.

"Including the handsome cartoon men? Now that is a compliment, coming from you."

Emile nodded, trying to maintain a serious face but unable to keep himself from smiling at Janus.

"Mhm! Including all the handsome cartoon men."

Deceit kisses them like he's dying, like it's the last thing he'd ever do, the only thing worth doing for the rest of his life. He clings to them like they'll disappear when he lets go, hands gripping at their shirt, their hair, their shoulders, anything to keep them here, to keep Deceit here, where he wants to stay until he breathes his last breath.

"Please," he whimpers against their lips, a muffled sob wracking his body, "please, don't do this to me, I can't- don't leave me, please, don't make me wak-"

"It's time to wake up, De." They whisper to his horror, cupping his cheek.

He sat up in bed, eyes wide as he gripped the sheets.

"No- no!" He hissed, drawing his knees up to his chest and fisting his hands in his hair. "No..."

Why couldn't he just stay asleep?

Asleep, where his love was returned and he could kiss them until he was out of breath abd his lips turned blue. Asleep, where he didn't have to worry about them not even liking him, let alone loving him, because of who and what he was.

He knew that here, in real life, he was hated, and he was so, so tired.

He just wanted to stay asleep.
