@justsitstill Scrolled down and got the rest of the story. I was right! I am the best detective.
You are indeed. You’ll also be pleased to know Mango took your encouraging words and has overcome the the harsh injustice that is bath time, and is now enjoying a nap (and smelling decidedly less of cow poo)
@justsitstill ahh thank you!! I love your blogs and Lio so much!! I’m sure you can see why we had to keep little Nel!
@emiliotheexplorer mango wants to offer sleepy snuggles and soft snores, she heard you might have use for them and she loves to share.
@emiliotheexplorer
The Kibra Hacha (Tabebuia billbergii). It only flowers once a year, three to five days following the first rains after the dry season. All of the trees flower synchronously, and are covered in bright yellow flowers. There is no slow lead up, they just appear. Normally these hills are green/grey, and as it is the end of the dry definitely closer to grey. This photo is from the top of the hill between our field site and town, there are no Kibra Hacha trees along that road, so this is always the first sight I would see of them every year, as I came to the crest of the hill. I don’t think it ever failed to make me audibly gasp.
(I tended to be less of a fan 3 months later when trying desperately to get their wind dispersed seeds into my seed bags for cultivation, and then into pots, I’m sure in 20 years time the floor of our tree nursery is going to have been overtaken by escapee Kibra Hacha seedlings)
@emiliotheexplorer Mango heard you weren’t having a great time, so she made me find pictures of her running round like a nut in the hopes she could make you smile :). I hope you’re day is better today.
Sketchy sketch. My first attempt at scribbling a full body.... guilty of using references so i cant draw his feet.... idk, im trying to draw after not it for years and not being good in the first place but i really liked this picture. Lio from emiliotheexplorer
