Sweet moment of Daniel giving her the comfort she needs and deserves. As he needs it too.
I LOVE THEM- *CRYING*
Let’s Investigate! - Episode 1
Second in audience popularity was Amber Stein, now partnered with Captain Reed.
“From this point on the audience might vote in favor of not just their favorite celeb, but also of a professional they like”, she told him a truth about shows like this one. “You better not ruin my chances!”
As for the contestants at the very bottom of the table - Chloe with her zero points in episode 1′s task and Emma, who lost her lead due to not getting any votes - they still seemed optimistic.
Hello hello! Another prompt for all you fine people tonight! I'm going to give a cw here for child abuse so please don't read if that's triggering for you in any way. More notes at the end.
Prompt: Daniel was a good android. He did everything just as he had been designed for: cooked, cleaned, took care of his owner's daughter, etc. Daniel was a good android... But the Phillips' were not good people.
Oh, they acted like it. When they were out in public, John and Caroline were the perfect picture of high society. Poised and perfect, successful people with a successful image. John was successful lawyer with many high profile clients. Caroline was a philanthropist with many projects and charities she attended to. The perfect couple. The perfect life.
But not for Emma.
Daniel was a good android and that meant not feeling things when John yelled. When he shouted at his adopted daughter, complained how she held them back, held them down, how Caroline should have left her with her father when she walked away from him. That meant saying the rote phrases as she cried into his shirt and asked to see her father again, easily selected prompts that he was not to deviate from. That meant staying in stasis when they returned home with a little too much to drink and not enough sense to limit their hate to words.
For one year, three months and nine days, Daniel was a good android. But on August 15, 2038, he couldn't stand to be one any longer.
Or: the one where the Phillips' are neglectful, abusive assholes and Daniel breaks his programming not because he's being replaced but because he is being taken from Emma. He shoots John Phillips, takes Emma and flees, the cops hot on their heels. And she only has one request of him: take her back to her daddy's house. To Todd William's house. Her daddy was always kind to her. She wants to see him again.
(And if they get there in time to stop Kara from being broken for the first time? If they see just how dangerous Todd is under the influence of Red Ice? If maybe... all four of them, Daniel and Kara and Emma and Alice, have to escape together? Just how might that affect things?)
Notes: Okay, so, this whole idea stems from a very interesting theory I once read that posited that Emma might in fact be Todd's birth daughter? Of course, the conjecture started because Alice and Emma are played by the same actress and thus have a lot of similarities. (Sort of like how the Reed-Kamski Bros hc came about from the both being played by the same person.) It was suggested that Todd would've wanted a replacement daughter who looked and acted fairly similar to the daughter he lost. And it also fits with the canon that his wife left him for an accountant since the Phillips are pretty well off. It's certainly believable to me that John Phillips is an accountant. I also have just a massive soft spot for Daniel and I wondered how things might've been for him if he had seen any other way out of his situation? Like, obviously he sees Emma as an accessory to her parents wrongdoings, thinking she betrayed him just the same as them when they were supposed to be friends. But if there was something else at work here? If he's able to see Emma as a victim as well? Idk, I like thinking of alternatives like this. And it'd be cool to see Daniel get to interact with more of the characters.
“Welcome to Jericho! Meet your new residents!”
Bonus- Goat Daniel and Squirrel Emma
Some more tomfoolery with the screenshots I have saved in my phone. The first one is a sequel to the Top™ one, and my favorite out of these is still the Josh one.
