As Relevant as a Mermaid?

So today I had a lovely meal with one of my closest friends now we got onto the topic for why I want to be a presenter. He said that the fact I have a Maths degree makes me unique as it is almost as relevant as me saying I want to be a Presenter because i'm a Mermaid…. What the Heck?

Does any body else get what my mates saying? I can a) Take it as a compliment since he related me as a Mermaid b) The fact that because I have a Maths degree make me unique or c) He's trying to get across that yea its good you got a Maths Degree but you don't to University to take a Presenting degree and the fact the degree that I have has no relevance whats so ever, Presenting is down to you, your determination and your own personality your the only person that will make your dreams happen. I think either way ill take it as a compliment and just start telling people I want to be a Presenter because I'm as relevant as a mermaid ;) hehe xxECB
